Wellbeing guru and broadcaster Fearne Cotton is coming to Norwich next month to chat about her new book, Scripted. The creator of the massive <a href="https://www.happyplaceofficial.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Happy Place</a> brand (from book to podcast to festival), Fearne is the author of umpteen wellness titles, but this is her first foray into fiction, and we&#8217;re expecting her signature warmth, honesty and quirkiness in spades. <a href="https://www.waterstones.com/events/fearne-cotton-at-the-assembly-house-norwich/norwich-castle-street" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Book tickets here</a> for Tue 18 Jun at The Assembly House, hosted by Waterstones Norwich.

Aylsham’s foodie scene continues to expand at pace. The latest addition is <a href="https://www.seventeenaylsham.co.uk/">SEVENTEEN</a>, a modern deli and coffee shop catering for all your caffeine, cheese and charcuterie needs with a range of local and Mediterranean artisan goodies to eat in, take away or fill your kitchen cupboards with.



Another thriving indie hub, Creake Abbey has just welcomed a stylish new hot-desking and events space to the fold. <a href="https://theseednorfolk.com">The Seed</a> (below) is a swish spot to smash through your to do list, where you can nab a desk for the day or take out various monthly packages. It also hosts networking events, yoga classes and some lovely workshops (zesty margaritas and the art of <a href="https://theseednorfolk.com/products/margs-marbling" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">marbling</a> on Thu 23 May sounds like the perfect end to a hard day&#8217;s sweating over the keyboard).

We brought you the head’s up on this one in an earlier Superflashy, but May is the month we can finally raise a stein to new continental beer bar <a href="https://www.instagram.com/bier_draak/">Bier Draak</a>, which opens any day now on King Street, Norwich. The owners of small but mighty Sir Toby’s Beers on Norwich Market are behind it, so we’re expecting Oktoberfest vibes with a wide choice of draught and bottled German and Belgian beers.

Did someone say FREE flicks? Norwich Theatre Royal will be showing four new film releases at no charge on the big screen in Stage Two over the next couple of months. The Sunday screenings, Allelujah (19 May), Elemental (2 Jun), One Life (16 Jun) and Migration (30 Jun), can be booked <a href="https://norwichtheatre.org/free-film-screenings-at-norwich-theatre/">here</a>. All films have been selected for their themes of kindness, compassion and humanity, as part of the theatre’s Creative Matters: Kindness through Creativity season.



For something a tad edgier, test your nerve at a deeply immersive experience within a shipping container, which will be positioned outside The Forum in Norwich next month. Watch strange worlds unfold in pitch-black darkness with 360-degree binaural sound and sensory effects. In collaboration with Norwich Theatre Royal, Darkfield’s two 20 minute shows, <a href="https://norwichtheatre.org/whats-on/arcade/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Arcade</a> and <a href="https://norwichtheatre.org/whats-on/seance/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Séance</a>, will run from Sat 1 &#8211; Sun 16 June.



An altogether more tranquil and light-filled experience awaits at Sandringham’s freshly launched <a href="https://sandringhamestate.co.uk/post/sparkling-garden-tours-c94f3f">Sparkling Garden Tours</a>, running from May to Sep. It all sounds perfectly civilised with afternoon tea and a glass of fizz before a horticultural tour with a senior gardener, exploring new developments taking shape.

Talking of towering tiered treats, <a href="https://thelastnorwich.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Last</a> is bringing a dainty taste of the Ritz to Norwich, thanks to its rather special <a href="https://thelastnorwich.co.uk/afternoon-tea-norwich/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Afternoon Tea</a> created by the new owner who was previously head waiter at the iconic London hotel. In between mouthfuls of homemade fancies and savouries, you can quiz Sebastian on the famous people he has served over the years. It’s available in the neighbouring café space, Taylors, every Thu to Sat, with a free glass of champagne for any bookings in May. Race you to a table!
