Superflashy news flash! The best local goss
From Norfolk's newest Oscar-winning resident to the Queen's doggy perfume, here's all the fun and fabulous local news you need to know.
You can take the Oscar winner out of Norfolk…

…but she’ll always come back! We’re giving Norfolk gal Olivia Coleman a warm welcome, after news that she’s said to be swapping South London for a Grade II pile near the fittingly Queen-y Sandringham Estate.
Star of The Crown, Broadchurch, The Favourite and so many more amazing shows and films, Coleman may or may not be planning on living here full time.
Nevertheless, she’ll certainly join an impressive roster of Norfolk-resident celebs – including Stephen Fry, the Charlatans’ Tim Burgess and comedian/podcaster/writer Adam Buxton. Oh, and of course (well, sometimes) – the Royal Family!
Fancy getting your paws on the Queen’s own doggy perfume?

Still on a Sandringham tip, it turns out that Her Madgesty’s merchandise department has been super busy (and inventive) of late. Royal-approved doggy perfume, anyone?
Yes, Queen Liz really has collaborated with local brand Norfolk Natural Living to make the Happy Hounds Dog Cologne, featuring a fresh “Coastal Walks” scent.

Only the best whiffs for your woof? The royally-approved doggy cologne is on sale at the estate for £9.99.
Do you dare to try a deep-fried cream egg?

If your answer to “how do you eat yours” is “deep fried” then you’re in luck, my friends, because legendary Norwich eaterie Chish’n’Fips is selling battered Cadbury’s Creme Eggs between now and Easter.
This unprepossessing but award-winning chippy, which has been a local mainstay for over 80 years, will even be offering a gluten-free version of the treat on Tuesdays. Much like the Eric’s deep-fried jam sandwich, I’m filing this under “must try” – and I don’t even usually like Creme Eggs!
Spot a local landmark in a new horror film…

If you’re heading out to the cinema next month you might just spot a familiar-looking local landmark! North Norfolk’s Wiveton Hall, previously catapulted to national fame after appearing in the BBC show Normal for Norfolk, will feature in Homebound – a creepy horror flick by director Sebastian Godwin.
We always think of Wivvy Hall as a sunny, picturesque place to do a spot of strawberry picking, or to have a lovely cuppa in the pretty cafe – so it will be interesting to see the stunning Jacobean building in a very different guise.
Watch out for Norfolk food on Ainsley’s new show!

In yet more fabulous local screen news, Ainsley Harriott’s new show The Best of British By The Sea (co-presented with Grace Dent) is set to feature a Norfolk episode. So get ready to see some of your favourite foodie hotspots, in Norwich and Great Yarmouth, on the box!
