Norfolk’s gone Travolta mad! (Plus other news…)

It's fair to say we've all gone a little giddy about our new Norfolkian, John Travolta! But just where has he been spotted now?! Read on for the inside scoop, plus the rest of the best Norfolk news...

John Travolta is a Norfolk resident! (Well, for a bit.)

That’s right, you heard us correctly! John Travolta – a true Hollywood legend and star of Pulp Fiction, Saturday Night Fever and, er, GREASE – is now a Norfolkian.

You’d assume he’s been papped at a chi-chi bolthole on the North Norfolk Coast, right? Er, wrong. The (seemingly rather lovely, and happy to pose for selfies) Mr Travolta has instead been spotted at the Fakenham branch of Morrisons, as well as a Weatherspoons in Dereham. We love to see it!

The star also took photos with fans outside chic plant-based Norwich restaurant Erpingham House, which is much more the kind of place we imagine him in. Travolta is in the county shooting his new film, The Shepherd, so we hope he’s loving Norfolk life.

Have you made a Travolta sighting? Let us know, if so!

UPDATE: Mr T has now been spotted dining on Lobster at The Old Forge Seafood Restaurant in Thursford, while telling locals he “loves Norfolk.” Of course he has!

Have you heard about Norfolk’s Heartbreak Hotel?

Ever wondered if there was a real life heartbreak hotel? Well, wonder no more, because there’s one right here in Norfolk! It sounds a little different to the one Elvis was crooning about, however…

The Heartbreak Hotel, which launched late last year, is actually a new female therapy retreat for all kinds of broken-hearted souls, run by Psychologist Alice Haddon and “Grit Doctor” Ruth Field at Chaucer Barn. (Presumably, it doesn’t feel super weird for the crushed retreaters that the venue is also an amazing place to get hitched!)

The getaways include R’n’R, tea, beach walks, runs, swims and oodles of group therapy chat. Tempted? There are retreats happening in June and September.

Er, THIS is where you’ll be getting your wedding guest outfit from…

If you’re saying no to fast fashion then you’ll know that the next big thing in green garms is high-end fashion rental. (Plus, it’s just makes way more sense to hire something for an event, if you think you’re only going to wear it once – unless you have a Carrie Bradshaw-esque closet!)

Step forward Threads Reworn, the new segment of the much-loved sustainable bridalwear shop Threads Bridal at Salle Moor Hall Farm. If you head there you can browse dresses from the likes of Ghost, Rixo (pictured) and Sandro, carefully curated for wedding guests and MOTB.

A Norfolk lad heads to Bridgerton!

Did you know there was a Bridgerton prequel in the works, about Queen Charlotte? Squeal! Even more exciting is the news that Norfolk’s own Sam Clemmett, from Brundall, has been cast as the younger incarnation of Brimsley (the Queen’s right-hand man). The more Bridgerton the better, we say – especially when Norfolk is representing.
