He may only have lived in it for a year, but Sir John Hurt said this gorgeous Georgian farmhouse was the best place he shall ever own &#8211; and it can be yours for a cool £1.95m *starts looking for spare change down the back of the sofa*.

The three-time BAFTA winner, best known for his roles in The Elephant Man, Harry Potter and Indiana Jones, moved to Norfolk in 2009. Fond memories with his clergyman father at Norwich Cathedral was the driving force behind the move, as well as those big skies of ours which Hurt liked to paint. He and his movie-producer wife, Anwen Rees-Myers, moved to Hawthorn House in 2016, selling both their Cromer property and a flat in London to fund the move, and we can see why.

Downstairs the living spaces go on and on. Starting with the adjoining barn &#8211; Hurt&#8217;s studio &#8211; which leads into an office space and generous sitting room. This backs on to a gallery which overlooks the patio garden with some pretty impressive sliding doors. There&#8217;s also a cosy snug, drawing room, utility room and pantry as well as oodles of built in wardrobe space.
