We love a bit of <a href="http://www.eastanglianevents.co.uk/gb/events/norwich/">outdoor cinema</a> here at Muddy &#8211; Picnic and Prosecco at the ready as we head down to my local park in Old Catton to catch one of four great films &#8211; The Lion King, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, The Greatest Showman and Grease.

It&#8217;s a new one for us and this <a href="https://www.trunchonburyfestival.com/home">family festival</a> hidden away in the North Norfolk countryside looks like a goodie. Billed as a three day music &amp; arts event, there&#8217;s an acoustic stage, dance tent and disco shed &#8211; have I got your attention? Throw in a healing field, outdoor cinema, circus workshops and a fun fair and you&#8217;ve got all the key ingredients for a pretty cool weekend.

It&#8217;s the seventh annual charity <a href="http://www.break-charity.org/support-us/events/grand-norwich-duck-race/">Grand Norwich Duck Race</a> from St George&#8217;s Bridge to Fye Bridge and a great day by the waters edge for all the family.

The Fun starts at 11am with a duck parade and the individual duck race starts at 2.00pm with 3000 sponsored ducks battling their way to the finish line. At 2.30pm it&#8217;s time for the large painted corporate ducks to take to the water.
There will also be a cake stall, ice creams, face painting, Archers Butcher&#8217;s sausage stall, little duck stall, games and other activities for everyone to enjoy.

Hop over the border to the Cambridge Cocktail Weekender! Every year the Corn Exchange is filled with pop up bars where revellers descend in their thousands, enjoying cocktails, partying and dancing until late to brilliant live bands. This year  looks set to be the biggest and best yet with a three-day extravaganza of fabulous cocktails, bars aplenty and the best in music and entertainment. There will be a range of fun activities like cocktail masterclasses and demonstrations throughout the day too (many of which are free after the cost of the cocktail). Most importantly though, there will be over 50 cocktails to choose from including premium spirit cocktails from just £5.

Home to the first <a href="https://uat.goape.co.uk">Go Ape </a>course in the country and not a bad spot for a series of high ropes crossings designed to hurl you out of your comfort zone. With a cocktail of high rise platforms, tricky obstacles and supercharged zip wires, this tree top adventure is not to be underestimated.
Don&#8217;t worry, there&#8217;s a Junior course and it&#8217;s perfectly acceptable to use the kids as an excuse to ease your way into the tree tops. If you’d rather stay firmly on the ground, there&#8217;s a brilliant adventure playground, cycle routes, walking trails and Forest Segway.

<a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/blickling-estate/features/the-word-defiant-at-blickling">The Word Defiant!</a> is a series of installations throughout the hall and out to the garden Temple that reveals stories of books that have been banned, burned, redacted, drowned, neglected and superseded, with each linked to the theme of books under threat.
A five-year conservation project at Blickling Estate inspired Theatre Company Les Enfants Terribles to explore the importance of books through contemporary art to spectacular effect &#8211; well worth the visit!

We&#8217;ve featured them before but the Sainsbury Centre Sculpture Park is a Muddy must this summer with three great exhibitions. Plan ahead and take advantage of the built in BBQ&#8217;s by the lake for a little informal get together with friends on a Sunday afternoon!
