<p>Piled high with fluffy pancakes, mini pastries, fresh berries and homemade granola, the pancake boards at <a href="https://www.orangerytearoom.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Orangery Tea Room</a> are to die for, and that’s without mentioning its views over the lake and lawns of Ketteringham Hall. A heavenly spot, perfect for a catch-up with the girls or a slow Sunday brunch with the fam.</p>

<p>Set on a working farm with views of open fields, this laid-back spot serves up hearty, home-cooked food and fresh air in equal measure. The café’s free-range eggs come straight from the farm, and with four resident pygmy goats (Billy, Daisy, Emmy and Coco) to coo over from a distance, it’s countryside calm with a side of charm.</p>

<p>We’re big fans of&nbsp;The Ber Street Kitchen&nbsp;and so are you, judging by the results of the&nbsp;Muddy Awards 2024 <em>and </em>2025. This cosy café ticks all the brunch boxes: barista-quality coffee, some of the best hashes in the city, and a warm, stylish interior with exposed brick, soft lighting, and chic panelled walls. Settle into your favourite corner, order up, and let the catch-up commence.</p>

<p>With proper coffee, an on-site micro-bakery, and award-winning sourdough, The Old Store is a dream for anyone with an artisan appetite. The menu reads like a brunch fantasy: sausage and raclette cheese muffins, truffled mushrooms on toast, and spicy maple syrup &amp; bacon pancakes &#8211; yes, please. It’s well worth the trip (and definitely worth ditching the Weetabix for!).</p>

<p>If you fancy brunch with a side of history, The Parlour is your spot. Housed in a light-filled 17th-century barn built from nearby priory ruins, it looks out over a field of cows, it&#8217;s a real beauty spot. Serving everything from full English breakfasts to cheese boards, salads, and a sweet range of cakes and scones (mostly made on-site with local produce), it’s a flippin’ fab place for breakfast, brunch, or a cheeky afternoon treat.</p>

<p>The farm-to-fork ethos at Hirst’s means its produce is either plucked from its own fields or brought in by local suppliers. There’s classics like breakfast rolls and avocado and eggs on the menu, but we’ve got our eye on a stack of sugar waffles, heavy on the bacon and maple syrup! </p>

<p>If your idea of calm is sitting by the sea, you’ll love the family-run Whelk Coppers – the former fisherman’s cottages are perched right on the Sheringham seafront, so you can wait for your brunch to arrive as you listen to the waves lapping against the shore. It’s all about chilled-out café vibes, good coffee and hearty homemade fare.</p>

<p>No33 Café has been plating up some of Norwich’s most popular brunches for well over 15 years now – from shakshuka to a full English and French toast to smashed avo and so much more, there’s not a breakfast they don’t do. Its Exchange Street café is always a winner (be ready to queue), but you can also get some steps in during a stroll around Chapelfield Gardens before settling in at its site there.</p>

<p>Bang-smack in the middle of Norwich, JC Pinto has become the brunch go-to for city-slickers since it opened, bringing Aussie, New Zealand and Amsterdam vibes to the fine city via the likes of garlic-marinated steak sarnie, veggie breakfast burrito and carrot bruschetta (its owner is veggie, so there’s no uninspiring meat-free meals here).</p>

<p>Ready to brunch like you mean it? Ffolkes’ epic brunch feast is just the thing for a proper post–school run indulgence. For a fixed £19 (£9.50 for under-12s, if you <em>do</em> bring the kids), you can graze to your heart’s content on cooked and continental favourites &#8211; think fruit, yoghurt, pastries, cereals and full English staples, with unlimited tea, coffee and juice. And if you fancy bringing the gang at the weekend, there’s plenty to keep everyone busy &#8211; from an adventure play area for the little ones to container golf, darts and shuffleboard for the grown-up &#8216;kids&#8217;.</p>

<p>NR3 is clearly the place to be for foodies – and the Urban Lounge is another spot which should definitely be on your radar when it comes to great brunch. Specialties include the bacon breakfast naan, three-piece breakfast and brioche sarnies. Fancy a boozy affair? Upgrade to the bottomless version – 90 minutes of brunching and bubbles.</p>

<p>If you’re after great food and an easy meeting spot, The Goat Shed delivers on both counts. Just off the A47, it’s perfect for a mid-morning catch-up &#8211; with farm-fresh ingredients turned into hearty, fuss-free brunches (you will be fighting over the last hash brown!). There’s plenty to keep little ones entertained if they’re in tow, and don’t forget to say hi to the goats before you leave &#8211; it’d be rude not to.</p>

<p>A quick hop outside the city is the Oak Bar, hidden at the back of Oaklands Hotel in Thorpe. If the weather’s playing ball, head out onto its huge terrace for a slice of peace and quiet. The name of the game here is local goodies – the Norfolk breakfast (and the veggie version) is packed with treats from just down the road.</p>

<p>Country pub-meets-steakhouse The Ratcatchers is already a destination spot for carnivores, but we’d recommend making a trip for its brunches. It’s a small but mighty menu packed with the classics – full English, Eggs Benny, breakfast bagel. But it’s the steak and eggs we’re going back for – meaty beef, scrambled eggs and garlic bread. What’s not to love? We’ll be ready for a nap.&nbsp;</p>
