Fancy a bank holiday weekend filled with cabaret, circus, music and comedy with a side of sleeping under the stars? Make a beeline for the fabulous family-friendly three-day&nbsp;<a href="https://www.mauiwauievents.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Maui Waui Festival</a>&nbsp;at Hill Farm in&nbsp;Dereham (Fri 23-Sun 25 Aug). This culture spectacular is brimming with things to do, including circus shows, over 100 bands, Maui’s Got Talent and the groovy Americana Day on the Sunday. If all that wasn&#8217;t perfect enough, under-13s go free – perfect for saving some dosh!

Bank holidays are for indulging so roomy pants on before eating your way around the <a href="https://www.junkyardmarket.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Junkyard Market Food Festival</a> (Sat 24-Mon 26 Aug). Back for a second year in its usual city central location on Duke Street, the line-up of vendors looks cracking with Just Wingin&#8217; It, Churros &amp; Chorizo and Cookie Mumsters (deep fried cookie dough for those not in the know) among the fabulous foodies taking part. It&#8217;s free to attend but you will <a href="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/junkyard-market-food-festival-2024-august-bank-holiday-weekend-tickets-964891495437" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">need a ticket</a> and to book a time slot.



Coming in hot, it&#8217;s the <a href="https://www.theaylshamshow.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Aylsham Show</a> (Mon 26 Aug). The annual celebration of Norfolk food and farming is back for a 76th year! Aside from the cool events like camel racing, stunt quads, parachute displays, classic cars and livestock shows there&#8217;s a fantastic food zone where you&#8217;ll find plenty of delectable local offerings. And if you still have room,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.holkham.co.uk/whats-on/feast-in-the-park/">Feast in the Park</a> over at Holkham is still serving up some delicious street food &#8211; hello Duck Truck, Solar Scoops and Crafty Burger &#8211; accompanied by some live music. A sure fire bank holiday win, on until Thu 29 Aug.

Calling all paw-rents! This bank holiday is&nbsp;<a href="https://www.norfolkshowground.co.uk/events/all-about-dogs/">All About Dogs</a>, the furry four-legged fest returns to the&nbsp;Norfolk Showground from&nbsp;Sun 25&nbsp;–&nbsp;Mon 26 Aug. Stock up on supplies for your pooch, test their skills in the dog contests, see if they’ve got a knack for everything from flyball to dock-diving – and get some fun snaps while you’re at it. 



For gamer kids &#8211; board not video &#8211; Norwich’s&nbsp;<a href="https://www.norwichgames.uk/">Games Convention</a>&nbsp;is back for a second year this Sat 24 Aug where dedicated board and tabletop game zones, virtual-reality sessions, role-playing games and sword-fighting demos will be cropping up all over the city. Meaning you can lose them to Dungeons and Dragons while you hit the shops &#8211; winning!



And the Summer of Play rages on at the National Trust, another bank holiday star for entertainment. At&nbsp;<a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/norfolk/oxburgh-estate/events/3de94b78-be6d-48ca-8266-ad932d10261d" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Oxburgh</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/norfolk/blickling-estate/events/7ad4aefd-8ced-4c10-980f-e26521a9c2fe">Blickling</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/norfolk/horsey-windpump/events/70e5ee43-fa3d-4587-a4bd-28ee9bde9dd0">Horsey Windpump</a> backgammon, chess, giant Jenga, croquet, badminton and timetabled archery are the orders of the day.

On&nbsp;Sat 24 Aug, explore the Valley of the Dinosaurs after sunset or take on the Predator High Ropes at night during&nbsp;<a href="https://roarr.co.uk/events/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Dinos in the Dark</a>&nbsp;at&nbsp;Roarr!&nbsp;in&nbsp;Lenwade&nbsp;(6pm-10pm) – there’ll be hot food and coffee, you’ll be relieved to hear. Or, pop along to&nbsp;<a href="https://bressingham.co.uk/events/2024/nights-at-the-museum-2" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bressingham Steam Museum</a>&nbsp;for some fairground fun on the Victorian gallopers, steam engines galore, lush street food and live music from&nbsp;430pm-1030pm&nbsp;on&nbsp;Fri 23 Aug.

Not had time to see Houghton Hall&#8216;s latest treat for art lovers? In a UK first since its initial 2006 showcase in Catanzaro, Italy, wizard of sculpture <a href="https://www.houghtonhall.com/antony-gormley-and-magdalene-odundo/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Antony Gormley</a>&#8216;s&nbsp;Time Horizon sees 100 life-size, cast-iron bodies installed on the same datum level throughout the 200-acre parkland &#8211; running until Thu 31 Oct. Alongside this, there’s also a superb exposé of ceramic artist,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.houghtonhall.com/dame-magdalene-odundo/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Dame Magdalene Odundo</a>&nbsp;(until Sun 29 Sept). Her first UK solo exhibition includes selection of sculptures inspired by state rooms at&nbsp;Houghton and a new commission based on Odundo’s recent residency at Wedgwood.

Folk, jazz, funk, reggae and country acts will be popping up at various locations, including The Forum, Westlegate and St Gregory’s Green –&nbsp;head this way for the&nbsp;<a href="https://cdn.visitnorwich.co.uk/app/uploads/2024/06/Norwich-Summer-Sessions-2024-DL.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">full line-up</a>.
