Great news if you&#8217;re on a fitness mission in 2025 or just looking to try something new. Local pilates and barre instructor, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/victoriarosepilatesstudio/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Victoria Rose</a>, is opening her very own studio this month. Located in Bowthorpe, just west of Norwich, the class schedule will include mat work, barre classes, private solo sessions and, the biggie, reformer pilates (cue excited clapping), well, if Jennifer Anniston and Margot Robbie are on the reformer wagon, so are we! Keep an eye on Victoria&#8217;s <a href="https://www.instagram.com/victoriarosepilatesstudio/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">insta</a> for opening updates and to book a class.



Prefer something a little more up beat? Limber up those muscles, and your vocal cords, for the cool new dance fitness class skipping into <a href="https://inspirenorwich.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Inspire Personal Training Studio</a> in Norwich. Home to Muddy Award winning fitness instructor, Imogen Clarke, the class makes breaking a sweat fun (finally some exercise we can get on board with). No experience is necessary, all you need to bring is your energy, and a smile. Like the sound of that? In need of a warm up? Cute, private sauna experience, <a href="https://thelittleheatretreat.co.uk/about/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Little Heat Retreat</a>, have just announced it will be launching a new sauna experience this year. You can already enjoy a gorgeous sauna sesh for up to six people with mocktails, aromatherapy, face masks and (wince) icy showers in the <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DBWMxKgsPg3/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">prettiest of locales</a> away from the hustle and bustle of Norwich, but this new experience will encompass 2025&#8217;s astrological theme of community and remembering. For more sauna action with a Muddy pink twist, may we introduce <a href="https://www.instagram.com/thepinksauna/">The Pink Sauna</a>. Courtesy of the folk at <a href="https://www.instagram.com/saunaboxcommunity/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sauna Box</a> (above), the wood-fired sauna in Sea Palling is getting a pretty pink upgrade a long with a number of cool sauna related experiences in the planning. Exciting. We can&#8217;t think of a better reward after an icy dip! Launching Fri 10 Jan.



And lastly, barnet saviours, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/savinoandcoombes/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Savino and Coombes</a>, have just announced that they are moving. The city central salon is relocating just a stone&#8217;s throw from the current site on Exchange Street. More details to follow, but best of luck with the move guys.

It was only a matter of time before the <a href="https://nestfarmhouse.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nest Farmhouse</a> team caught the attention of the picky inspectors at the Michelin Guide. And in under a year since setting up shop in Docking, joint owners Luke Wasserman, Johnnie Crowe and Toby Neill (who also operate Nest and Restaurant St. Barts in London) along with their talented Head Chef Grant Cotton have done it! Sitting proudly on the <a href="https://guide.michelin.com/gb/en/norfolk/docking_1732673/restaurant/nest-farmhouse" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">guide for 2025</a>, Michelin described the food at the 1000 acre farm estate and hotel as &#8220;uncomplicated, rustic-style fare that makes you want to order every dish on the menu&#8221; and we couldn&#8217;t agree more! Congrats guys.

Getting us through these dreary (and dry if you partake in an alcohol-free January) is news of a fab new beer festival coming to the county this summer. Beer delivery service (and producers of the delectable Cherry Boom beer), <a href="https://www.boomtowers.co.uk/order" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Boom Towers</a>, will be hosting <a href="https://www.instagram.com/boomtowersbeercon/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Beer Con</a> out of St Mary&#8217;s Works (above) in Norwich from Thu 26 &#8211; Sun 30 Jun. Playing host to over 20 breweries from the UK, Europe and the US, along with an exciting roster of talks and tastings, art installations, DJ sets and street food, the festival aims to showcase the next generation of beer brewers. Cheers to that! Tickets are set to go on sale this month.

Swish hotel, <a href="https://caistorhall.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Caistor Hall</a> in Caister St Edmund has just received the green light for a hefty refurb which will see some BIG changes to the luxurious, 18-room hotel, including a new and improved bistro and events venue. Since the hotel was taken over by fine dining and events firm Brasteds in 2021, it has seen some sympathetic refurbishments, but this will certainly take things to the next level. No news yet as to when the work will begin, for now we&#8217;re looking forward to sipping a wine with the wisteria on the terrace come spring. 



Speaking of HUGE refurbs, the Courtyard Café at <a href="https://pensthorpe.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pensthorpe Nature Park</a> in Fakenham is undergoing a six-figure expansion. Set to open in July this year (phew just in time for the summer holidays!), the new café will be much larger and visitor friendly and will include a cool serving hatch and, perhaps most importantly for all you frazzled parents out there, a swanky new barista coffee machine too. If you plan to visit between now and then, the café is still operating while work is completed.

And a Muddy favourite for cool vintage furniture and clothing, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/norfolkretro/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Norfolk Retro</a>, has announced that the shop as it stands on St Augustine&#8217;s Street in Norwich will cease to be the same. Don&#8217;t worry, you&#8217;ll still be able to shop all your vintage gems just in a different way, as owner Laura wishes to spend more time sourcing furniture, attending fairs and shopping events, and offering a regular delivery service which is great news if you ask us! The shop will be transformed into a furniture showroom open Sundays and by appointment from the spring. As for the clothing and online shopping, we eagerly await more news&#8230;

If visiting <a href="https://norfolk.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/the-orangery-tea-room-ketteringham/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Orangery Tea Room</a> and taking in the stunning views aren&#8217;t reason enough to visit <a href="https://www.ketteringhamhall.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ketteringham Hall</a>, from the end of January you&#8217;ll have one more reason as a gorgeous new flower shop is opening. <a href="https://www.instagram.com/vintageroseflowers/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Vintage Rose Flowers</a> will operate from a rustic log cabin in the grounds offering bespoke floral designs, bouquets all of which are romantic and whimsical in style. Sounds blooming lovely to us.

You might have seen their cute coffee pod touring the county leaving the delicious smell of coffee in its wake, but specialty coffee company, <a href="https://www.greenwavecoffee.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Green Wave Coffee</a>, have confirmed they are laying down some roots. Their new take away coffee shop will be opening in Cromer soon (date currently TBC) which is great news for all your coastal caffeine fiends. Follow their insta for more updates. 



And you may want to put the diet off until February as there&#8217;s a new bakery on the block! Formerly a pop-up, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/mandmsweet.treats/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">M&amp;M Sweet Treats</a> opened a stand alone café in Hellesden at the start of the month, and if the queue around the block on opening morning is anything to go by, it&#8217;s already a hit! With interiors as pretty as the <a href="https://www.instagram.com/mandmsweet.treats/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">pastries and freshly baked cakes</a> &#8211; we&#8217;re talking pink neon signs, faux flowers and a splash of Muddy pink &#8211; we say bring on the sugar rush!
