<p>We can&#8217;t quite believe our eyes – Jeff Goldblum, Josh O&#8217;Connor, Russel Tovey, Dan Levy, Ruth Wilson, Lesley Manville <em>and</em> Kit Connor were among the BIG names who flocked to <strong>Houghton Hall</strong> at the weekend to celebrate <a href="https://www.houghtonhall.com/whats-on/dame-magdalene-odundo" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Dame Magdalene Odundo</a>’s exhibition. Sponsored by the LOEWE FOUNDATION, the exhibition celebrates Odundo&#8217;s 40-year career featuring new and existing pieces including a special Wedgewood comish. </p>

<p>Guests were invited by Jonathan Anderson, LOEWE&#8217;s Creative Director, for a night of fine art, high fashion and fun. With a backdrop of Anthony Gormley&#8217;s <em><a href="https://www.houghtonhall.com/whats-on/antony-gormleys-time-horizon" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Time Horizon</a></em> outside, Odundo&#8217;s stunning pieces inside and the grandeur of <a href="https://www.houghtonhall.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Houghton Hall</a> in general, needless to say the pics look amazing.</p>

<p>Suranne Jones aka <em>Gentleman Jack</em>, <em>Doctor Foster</em>, all round ass-kicker in <em>Vigil </em>and, most recently President of <a href="https://sheringhamlittletheatre.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sheringham Little Theatre</a>, is coming to town! The Bafta-winning actress will be taking part in not one but two Q&amp;As at the theatre this summer, hosted by local playwright James McDermott. She will be chatting about her career and taking questions from the audience – we have a few about her spooky new witch trials documentary. Naturally tickets are selling like hotcakes so get in quick! </p>

<p>The closure of The Halls in Norwich for urgent maintenance is not stopping the Norwich Beer Festival! Having been the host to the pint-sized fest for 45 years now, organisers are hopping out The Halls and taking over the city with for 12 days of fun events, activities, and, errr, lots of beer drinking. Already in the pipeline is a World Beer pop-up at Castle Social in the Castle Quarter with The Beehive, The Brickmakers and Redwell Brewery already on board to host tastings and live music. We&#8217;ll drink to that!</p>

<p>Or rather re-openings in this case, the Grade II listed <a href="https://www.whitehorseholme.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">White Horse</a> pub in Holme-next-the-Sea has just re-opened its doors after a hefty refurb and we&#8217;re super excited to pay them a visit. The cosy 70-cover coastal pub offers diners a menu jam-packed with local produce from the likes of South Creake and Sandringham Farm, and drinkers a tipple from <a href="https://norfolk.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/woodfordes-brewery-pubs-woodbastwick/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Woodforde&#8217;s Brewery</a> and Burn Valley Vineyard. It&#8217;s giving family vibes with larger tables for gatherings with the fam and a children&#8217;s playground outside. There&#8217;s also a fire pit, pretty south-facing garden and pétanque! </p>

<p>New Muddy favourite coffee spot &#8211; popular with a few Norwich City footballers too &#8211; <a href="https://www.groundedcoffeebar.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Grounded</a> on Norwich&#8217;s Unthank Road has just announced that work is underway to turn the cellar into a speakeasy! The basement bar &#8211; which will be called <a href="https://www.instagram.com/undergroundedbar/?hl=en" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Undergrounded</a> (love that), will transport visitors back to the prohibition era with a secret entry, art deco style, Gatsby vibes and classic cocktails &#8211; 1920s garb optional of course. Opening date to come.</p>



<p>And the folk at the <a href="https://goat-shed.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Goat Shed</a> in Honingham have been busy bees this year. With a new look butchery, bakery and deli counter recently unveiled, they have just announced the imminent opening of a <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/C8WqNTIscyt/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Maize Maze</a> &#8211; we know just in time for the school holidays! Dates and tickets tbc but we&#8217;re already picturing enjoying coffee and a cake here while the kids blow off steam in the maze this summer. </p>

<p>City sweet spot, <a href="http://www.figbarnorwich.com/welcome" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Figbar</a>, has been quenching sugar cravings for the good people of Norwich since 2016 and we were pleased to learn it has just been included in the Good Food Guide (we know, it&#8217;s about time). Following an anonymous inspection, the long-standing guide to dining out in Britain called the Norwich institution a local gem. Well done guys, for this and your delicious  peanut butter fudge bars!</p>



<p>Seems mad to be chatting Christmas in July, but we couldn&#8217;t not give a shout out to <a href="https://www.thursford.com/christmas-spectacular/">Thursford Christmas Spectacular</a> which has just scooped a gong for being The Best Christmas Experience in the UK at the Group Leisure &amp; Travel Awards. The all-singing all-dancing festive showdown in Fakenham has been the peak of many Christmas calendars for decades so it&#8217;s great to see it getting some official recognition. No doubt this year&#8217;s celebration will be bigger and better than ever. <em><a href="https://www.thursford.com/christmas-spectacular/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Tickets</a> are already selling for this year&#8217;s show which runs from <strong>Fri 8 Nov – Mon 23 Dec</strong></em>.</p>



<p>And, though we&#8217;ve all known about the delightful <a href="https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/norfolk/sheringham-park" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sheringham Park</a> and it&#8217;s to die for picnic locale for like ever, it is now official. The Telegraph has just crowned it one of the best picnic spots in the UK, praising its diversity and coastal location. Grab your picnic basket and we&#8217;ll see you there when the sunshine returns!</p>

<p>Cute restaurant and deli, <a href="https://www.lemonandrosemaryyard.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Lemon and Rosemary Yard</a>, in Elsing announced its closure on Instagram earlier this week (sob). Though their pretty courtyard, sunny yellow door and handmade goodies will be sorely missed, owners Abbi and Alex promise updates on their next venture soon so keep an eye on their <a href="https://www.instagram.com/thelemonandrosemaryyard/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Insta</a>.
