<p>Just when you thought this year&#8217;s <a href="https://www.heritagelive.net/venues/sandringham-estate" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Heritage Live at Sandringham</a> couldn&#8217;t get any better than <a href="https://www.heritagelive.net/whats-on/michael-bublé" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Michael Bublé</a>, they have gone and bagged none other than *screams* <a href="https://www.heritagelive.net/whats-on/mariah-carey" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mariah Carey</a>! That&#8217;s right the Songbird Supreme is headed for Norfolk to perform an exclusive show at the Royal digs &#8211; talk about a fitting locale for the Queen of the high note. Supported by Nile Rodgers &amp; Chic<em> and </em>Eternal (another Nineties throwback we&#8217;re here for), Mimi will be headlining on <strong>Fri 15 Aug</strong>. Tickets aren&#8217;t yet available but you can register for pre-sale now (says sharpening elbows in anticipation).</p>

<p>We weren&#8217;t sure how they were going to top Anthony Gormley or Magdalene Odundo, but consider our art goggles ready and raring to go for <strong>Stephen Cox</strong>&#8216;s exhibition at <a href="https://www.houghtonhall.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Houghton Hall</a> come May. That&#8217;s right, the renowned British sculptor is the Palladian beaut&#8217;s artiste in residence for 2025, showcasing his largest and most comprehensive selection of work in the UK to date. Spanning 40 years, it will include pieces made from both marble and stone which Cox conceived and produced all over the world. Around 20 sculptures will be exhibited both inside Houghton and within the grounds from <strong>Sun 4 May &#8211; Sun 28 Sep</strong>. <p>The <a href="https://nnfestival.org.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Norfolk &amp; Norwich Festival</a>, a stalwart on our festi scene, has announced its full programme ahead of the festival kicking off from <strong>Fri 9 &#8211; Sun 25 May</strong> and it is a doozy. Among your fan favourite events cropping up around the county, (<a href="https://nnfestival.org.uk/whats-on/welcome-weekend/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Welcome Weekend</a>, <a href="https://nnfestival.org.uk/whats-on/page-against-the-machine-6/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Page Against The Machine</a> etc), we have Grammy-award winner <a href="https://nnfestival.org.uk/whats-on/aroof-aftab/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Arooj Aftab</a>, Mercury prize nominees <a href="https://nnfestival.org.uk/whats-on/corto-alto/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">corto.alto</a> and BBC Radio 6&#8217;s <a href="https://nnfestival.org.uk/whats-on/an-evening-with-gilles-peterson/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Gilles Peterson</a> which are just some of the names ticking the musical portion of the festival. <p>If you were out and about in East Runton at the weekend you may have bumped into a couple of familiar faces. Michelle Keegan and hubby Mark &#8220;Wrighty&#8221; Wright were spotted enjoying a leisurely lunch at the <a href="https://whitehorsebar.co.uk/booking-widget/?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAaYqbwHYHgy912VlxxiN6f1j1STYuuiQfrZP23vC7QngFLMquzLvXcNrj6Q_aem_cJ-r5wlQUNY0gQRmmEVboQ" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">White Horse</a> on Sunday. The TOWIE star took a shine to the coastal bar and restaurant when he was in the county switching on the Christmas lights last year so it is nice to see him back in our hood so soon, proving that the only way is Norfolk (as if we didn&#8217;t know already!).</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-congrats">Congrats</h2>

<p>Not content with scooping a Michelin star within 18 months of opening, <a href="https://www.mjpatcaistorhall.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mark Poynton at Caister Hall</a> has just nabbed himself not one, not two but three AA stars! Awarded for culinary excellence and consistently high standards, winning one of these bad boys is no easy feat. Congratulations guys, may your reign of award winning continue.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-in-other-news">In other news&#8230;</h2>



<p>And we’re waving a very sad farewell to two Norfolk gems. Firstly, one of our favourite spots to nab cheese and other essential provisions (*coughs* wine) has closed. Star Plain in Holt went out on a high closing its doors in January after a successful December filling our Christmas hampers with lots of lovely goodies. And secondly, after a sterling 15 years on the Norwich fine foodie scene, <a href="https://www.rogerhickmansrestaurant.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Roger Hickman&#8217;s Restaurant</a> announced it will be closing on <strong>Sun 30 Mar</strong> (sob). Luckily there&#8217;s still a few weeks left to visit but it will be sorely missed. </p>
