The Feathers, Holt

A dog-friendly pub with a cosy contemporary style in the centre of a shopper’s paradise – plus the North Norfolk coast on the doorstep. Book us in now.

The Feathers provides a soft landing after a morning hitting Holt’s boutiques, galleries and antique stores, or a day at the coast just 4 miles away. Step straight in off the high street and you’ll be greeted by roaring fires in winter, plush seating to sink into, locally crafted tipples, and a menu to tempt all appetites.

Bang in the centre of Holt, this historic pub has never looked finer thanks to a chic update by The Chestnut Group (the owners of other much-loved East Anglian locals such as The Globe, Wells-next-the-Sea, The Wiveton Bell, Blakeney, and The Lifeboat Inn, Thornham).

Whatever your wining and dining desire, there’s an inviting spot for you at The Feathers, from cosy lounges and snugs to a large dining space adjoining a light-flooded garden room. Come summer, the outdoor terrace beckons for relaxed alfresco dining and rosé-sipping.

As for the food, you can expect a crowd-pleasing selection of old-school classics, coastal favourites and seasonal dishes with a high-end twist and a focus on locally sourced ingredients. Keep a look out for the themed nights, too. Plus, there’s a well-designed children’s menu, an epic Sunday roast with all the trimmings, and some good-looking options for veggies and vegans.

Can’t bear to leave at the end of the night? Luckily for you, The Feathers has 14 individually decorated bedrooms under its roof, and a further 10 Lawn Rooms just a short stroll away.

It’s not only humans who are given special treatment here. Four-legged friends are VIPs too, with a special doggie menu in the bar and dog accessories (bed, towel, water bowl and toy) in the bedroom. Even the sofas aren’t out of bounds!
