Run by husband and wife Matthew and Caroline, Owsley-Brown Catering Company offers something really rather special. The couple take pride in making everything from scratch in their smallholding kitchen, using only the best regional ingredients to create inventive, well-crafted food.
Their stellar hospitality credentials include working with Rick Stein and Anton Mosimann, and at Harvey Nichols’ The Fifth Floor. They also owned and ran Fishes in Burnham Market for nine years.
Their high-quality, bespoke service caters for a range of events in and around West Norfolk, from smaller weddings, parties and special occasions through to intimate dinner parties and even nibbles on the lawn. Well-connected in the hospitality industry, they can draw on a fantastic team of professional, friendly staff, allowing hosts to enjoy the party alongside their guests, without worrying about cooking and serving.
Matthew and Caroline also run a pop-up Nordic tipi restaurant in their paddock on specific evenings throughout the spring and summer months. Surrounded by woodland and countryside, it’s rustic, a bit below the radar, quirky and great fun, with a fantastic atmosphere. Each event has a set menu inspired by a place, a meal or a region the couple have visited.
These Pop-up in the Paddock events kick off at 7pm, usually on a Friday, and it’s BYO so you can raid your cellar for that delicious bottle/s wine you’ve been waiting to crack open. Dine at long wooden trestle tables, with deer-hide covered benches, within the Nordic tipi aglow with fairy lights. Why not gather a good posse and come along for a meal?
We bet that will be a popular invitation – so it’s good to know the tipi is also available for private hire any time of the year for birthday, anniversary, away-days, team meetings or just a get together with friends for the hell of it!
