Muddy says: ‘Magical’ Mount Amelia is a Grade II* listed luxury self-catering venue by the North Norfolk coast. Ideal for large family getaways and special events – this is the ultimate super sophisticated country retreat.
Sweeping drive, spacious grounds, two interconnecting sitting rooms, a dining room, nine bedrooms and seven bathrooms – oh yes, Mount Amelia (or Ingoldisthorpe Hall and Cottages as it is also known) is Muddy grand!
Light, airy and classically decorated it’s actually very homely and we particularly loved the groovy wallpaper and four poster princess beds.
Massive amounts of outdoor space for the kids to explore including an insta-perfect wooden swing hanging from an ancient tree. Throw in a tv and games room and the kids are taken care of, leaving the grown-ups to get on with the important business of eating and drinking in the huge country kitchen.
Pair all this with unparalleled views of The Wash, stunning beaches just a short drive away, and numerous cosy country pubs nearby – this is one of Muddy’s favourite big stay properties.
Rescued from dereliction, the original Manor dates back to 1745 and was painstakingly restored by owner Ben Marten and his wife Caroline. Sleeping up to 20, Mount Amelia is available to rent in its entirety for an unforgettable party stay (ahem, anyone’s big birthday coming up?) or for even bigger groups you can add on the accompanying Norfolk Holiday Cottages taking it up to 34 beds!
For smaller more intimate affairs, there is luxury bed and breakfast available in five fully en-suite rooms when the house is not exclusively booked.
