This independent, family-run business has been making amazing jewellery for the people of Norfolk – and far beyond – since 2006. Sonkai has a small and specialist team, featuring two designers who work alongside co-owner and master goldsmith Craig. This means that if you pop in for a browse (which we REALLY recommend) you will only ever meet staff who really know their stuff.

Every piece sold in the boutique is unique, having been designed and made at the open plan in-store workshop. All materials are ethically sourced, and from UK-based suppliers. Not 100 per cent sold on something you see in store? You can easily request alternative sizes or colour options, which will be made to order.

Sonkai offer a variety of artful, cleverly-themed collections. Flint, inspired by the flint walls of traditional Norfolk buildings, is a gorgeously organic set of pieces featuring battered textures, uneven lines and muted metallics. Reed, meanwhile, which takes its style queues from our county’s thatched roofs and wild reed beds, favours slim, wavy lines and multiple strands of metal. The whole look is just so chic. Plus, Sonkai has an absolutely stunning array of unique engagement rings and wedding bands.

If you want to commission something original, and really special, Sonkai is the place to go. They can work with you to create a truly one-off piece, from initial inspiration to that final polish. Found or inherited a great vintage piece that doesn’t quite fit or suit you? They can help with that too, adjusting existing jewellery until it’s just right for you.

The Royal Arcade in Norwich is a slice of art deco fabulousness, renowned for being one of the prettiest shopping streets in the UK. We must admit that we frequently find ourselves daydreaming about Sonkai’s lovely jewellery – it’s no wonder that they are two-time winners of best jeweller in the Muddy Awards.
