Having galloped across Norfolk to The Stables at Royal Norwich, our inspirational winners were more than ready to raise a glass (or three) of fizz at the Muddy Awards party. After all, it was an opportunity to press pause on their busy schedules and take a moment to bask in one another’s success and sheer fabulousness.

When we asked you – our discerning readers – to vote for your favourite local independent businesses, you certainly weren’t shy about it. The Muddy Awards, in partnership with our fab national sponsor Healthily, is a huge deal with over 75,000 businesses entered and 875,000 votes counted across the Muddy counties. Just, wow! The competition in Norfolk was unprecedented so it is a massive achievement for the victors.

This year’s awards shindig was hosted by The Stables at Royal Norwich who looked after us so brilliantly. We adored the relaxed al-fresco drinkies and delicious canapés on the stylish terrace overlooking the golf course. Tee-rific!

With bubbly on tap, literally (cheers Bubble Crew), and an insta-worthy balloon backdrop in Muddy colours (take a bow, Balloon Room Norfolk), we had it all going on. Thank you also to our awesome photographer Richard Jarmy for capturing the buzz and our best sides!

The Norfolk Muddy team (above) were in their element meeting and greeting the best in the biz. Shining a spotlight on brilliant businesses so you can make the most of where you live is what makes us tick. Muddy founder and ed-in-chief Hero Brown (below, centre) party hopped over from her own county awards in Oxfordshire/Buckinghamshire, which took place the night before.

There wouldn’t be an awards party at all without the votes of our marvellous Muddy readers. So, a big heartfelt thank you for taking the time to show your local favourites some love. It requires extraordinary effort to run a successful business. The flurry of post-party Instagram activity, with winners proudly brandishing their certificates, shows just how much your pat on the back is appreciated.
