<p>Disclaimer alert, a visit to Norfolk Antique and Reclamation Centre will most likely inspire you to move to a bigger house just to accommodate some of the jaw-dropping finds here. Owned by Daniel Dawson-Gordon whose keen eye for the architecturally interesting and unbelievable restoration skills have seen his pieces featured on screen in the Bond movie <em>No Time To Die</em> and <em>In the Heart of the Sea</em> among others. We&#8217;re currently heart-eye emoji obsessed with these <a href="https://www.norfolkreclamation.co.uk/all-stock/antiques/furniture/shelving-cabinets-storage/corner-bookcases-pair/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">corner bookcases</a>, this <a href="https://www.norfolkreclamation.co.uk/all-stock/antiques/furniture/sideboards/white-marble-topped-sideboard-sink-shelving-unit-reclaimed-from-jaime-olivers-norwich-restaurant/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">stunning marble-topped sideboard and sink</a> and these <a href="https://www.norfolkreclamation.co.uk/all-stock/architectural/decorative-tiles/set-of-4-decorative-arts-and-crafts-tiles-6x6/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">gorgeous tiles</a>. Pop along to his showroom and salvage yard &#8211; which includes a beautiful 17th Century thatched barn &#8211; you will not be disappointed. A small selection of pieces can also be seen in Jarrold&#8217;s in Norwich too.</p>

<p>Ever heard of London&#8217;s furniture mecca <a href="https://www.twocolumbiaroad.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Two Columbia Road</a>? Well, this is its Norfolk little sister, Three Magdalen Street. Focusing on iconic and authentic design the stores eagle-eyed owners, Rebecca Thomas and Keith Roberts,  have stocked Three with some stunning mid-century pieces, cool contemporary twentieth-century furniture, lighting, art and plenty of drool-worthy vintage home accessories. For those up on their furniture designers, Three regularly has gems from the likes of Hans Wegner, Norman Cherner, Cees Braakman and Bruno Matheson. Impressive. </p>

<p>The carefully curated Norfolk Retro stocks a little bit of everything &#8211; gorgeous furniture, glassware, ceramics, art and clothing &#8211; but it has become a go-to for original Ercol pieces and Lloyd Loom rattan. In fact it is the only Ercol showroom in the county so mid-century fans this is your go to. The shop is open weekends, however the owner, Laura, drops new pieces regularly on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/norfolkretro/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Instagram</a> so take note as they get snapped up quickly. You’ll also find info on the cool vintage clothing shop, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/nrclosetvintage/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NR Closet Vintage</a>, on there too which is part of Norfolk Retro.</p>

<p>For a showroom as cool as its wares, head to Modern Story in Heacham. Found in a former bank &#8211; subterranean vaults and all &#8211; it&#8217;s a cool place for a nosey, and a coffee just FYI. There&#8217;s a great stock of vintage home accessories, glassware and ceramics in this treasure trove as well as heaps of second hand furniture. It’s open on weekends so makes for a great detour on your way to the coast (not to put ideas in your head!).</p>

<p>We daren&#8217;t begin to count the many (many) hours we&#8217;ve spent over the years having a rummage around Looses Emporium. The Aladdin&#8217;s cave on Magdalen Street is a certified treasure trove with over 60 different vendors all under one roof. It’s packed with all sorts of vintage pieces and antiques from across the eras including clothing, books, records, garden accessories, art, clocks, sculpture, instruments, collectables and <em>loads</em> more. If you&#8217;re into a bit of DIY when it comes to upholstering or repurposing there&#8217;s a section on the top floor with furniture in need of a bit of TLC.</p>

<p>Not sure what you&#8217;re after? You&#8217;re sure to find it &#8211; and a whole host of other pieces you never knew you needed &#8211; at Holt Antiques and Interiors. North Norfolk&#8217;s largest antiques centre is packed to the rafters with pretty much every conceivable item of furniture and home furnishing you can think of, striking the balance perfectly with top notch bargains and high end classic pieces.</p>

<p>Another space for a good old rummage is The Workshop. Now a coffee stop and 20th Century furniture shop, its main focus is up-cycling and restoring furniture. They&#8217;ve got some super-interesting pieces such as a tabletop turned into wall art and swivel book shelves made from reclaimed wood. A real treasure trove that will accommodate all budgets.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">More local finds </h2>



<p>Also worth a nosy for the piece you never knew you needed is <a href="https://www.twgaze.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">TW Gaze Auction Rooms</a> in Diss. They hold an antiques and interiors auction every Friday. You can view the catalogue and bid online but it&#8217;s an experience to be there in person &#8211; paddles at the ready! <a href="https://vintageandretrofurniturenorfolk.co.uk/collections/all-stock">Vintage and Retro Furniture Norfolk</a> is also a good shout, selling mainly online but you can collect and view pieces at their Wisbech workshop by appointment.</p>
