<p>It’s the Oscars of the foodie world, but instead of Demi Moore cat-walking it up the red carpet, a legion of chefs took to Glasgow’s famous Kelvingrove Museum to see if they cut the Michelin star mustard. </p>



<p>Despite the closure of STORE in Stoke Holy Cross, a Michelin star holder since 2023, there’s plenty to celebrate with some Norfolk twinklers in the Michelin constellation still shining bright. Most notably the addition of <a href="https://www.mjpatcaistorhall.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mark Poynton at Caistor Hall</a> into the Michelin megaverse, and <a href="https://morstonhall.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Morston Hall</a> notching up an awe-inspiring 26 years of Michelin star status. Meanwhile in the big smoke it was an absolute sweep-fest with 7 new stars popping up in <a href="https://london.muddystilettos.co.uk/eat-out/michelin-stars-2025-revealed-discover-londons-winners/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">London</a>. Now, let’s go star-gazing.</p>

<p>New this year! <a href="https://www.mjpatcaistorhall.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mark Poynton at Caistor Hall</a> only opened in 2023 within Georgian country house Caistor Hall Hotel. It&#8217;s praised for bold flavoursome dishes, with the Michelin Guide, much like Muddy, particularly appreciative of the chocolate desserts. In addition to running the hotel&#8217;s flagship restaurant, Mark owns MJP at The Shepherds in Fen Ditton, Cambridge, also in the Michelin Guide.</p>

<p>And holding steady we have pretty bijou, <a href="https://www.meadowsweetholt.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Meadowsweet</a> in Holt which retains its star for the fourth year on the trot &#8211; and is praised for leaving no detail overlooked and for its deep flavours. While Norfolk’s Michelin stalwarts <a href="https://www.morstonhall.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Morston Hall</a> and <a href="https://theneptune.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Neptune</a> have now held onto their Michelin star status for an impressive 26 and 15 years, respectively. Morston&#8217;s owner and chef patron Galton Blackiston was praised for his deep knowledge and appreciation of the great produce found in our county, meanwhile the dynamic husband and wife team at Old Hunstanton’s The Neptune continue to wow inspectors with skilful simplicity. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-bib-gourmand"><strong>Bib Gourmand</strong></h2>

<p>No stranger to Michelin acclaim, <a href="https://www.thewildebeest.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Wildebeest</a> in Stoke Holy Cross has been listed in the Michelin guide since 2022 and it now can add Bib Gourmand status to its list of acclaim. The restaurant has been praised for its service and satisfying and seemingly straightforward dishes executed with great skill and care.</p>



<p>Two other jewels in Norfolk&#8217;s foodie crown, <a href="https://www.sculthorpemill.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sculthorpe Mill</a> and <a href="http://www.theguntonarms.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Gunton Arms</a> kept their prestigious Bib for good quality and good value cooking. With its laidback country-chic vibe and deer park location, The Gunton has been a favourite of both celebs and carnivores for over 12 years. A newer addition to Norfolk gastropub scene, Sculthorpe Mill joined the Bib Gourmand crew in 2022 after an amazing evolution under the ownership of sisters Siobhan and Caitriona Peyton. </p>

<p><a href="https://www.restaurantbenedicts.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Benedicts</a>&nbsp;is an unfussy yet classy restaurant where the quality of the ingredients speak for themselves. Chef Patron Richard Bainbridge cut his culinary teeth at Michel Roux’s 3 Michelin-starred Waterside Inn as well as winning&nbsp;<em>Great British Menu</em>&nbsp;in 2015.&nbsp;</p>



<p><a href="https://benolirestaurant.com/">Benoli</a>, tucked away at the bottom of Norwich’s Timber Hill, is an Italian restaurant focussing on fresh classics all made in-house from scratch.</p>



<p><a href="http://www.rogerhickmansrestaurant.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Roger Hickman’s</a> on Norwich’s fashionable Upper St Giles is a grown-up restaurant specialising in fine dining, pretty plates and great local ingredients. Sadly you only have until Sun 30 March to pay them a visit as they are sadly closing. Sob.</p>



<p><a href="https://www.theinghamswan.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Ingham Swan</a>&nbsp;in Sea Palling gets full marks for quintessential British pub charm: 14C thatched roof with stone walls and low beams, modern British dining and bedrooms to boot.&nbsp;</p>



<p><a href="https://sociusnorfolk.co.uk/book-a-table/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Socius</a>&nbsp;is a Scandi-style restaurant in Burnham Market recently named&nbsp;AA Restaurant of the Year England. It serves small tapas plates showcasing the best local produce.</p>



<p><a href="https://www.stokemill.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Stoke Mill</a> is housed in a 700 years old renovated mill on the River Tas in Stoke Holy Cross. It’s much awarded for its clever combination of flavour and ingredients.</p>



<p><a href="https://www.titchwellmanor.com/restaurant.html#conservatory" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Conservatory</a>&nbsp;is Titchwell Manor’s formal dining room, a light and airy space overlooking the walled garden. The perfect spot for a summer gathering – large or small.&nbsp;</p>



<p><a href="https://www.theoldbankbistro.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Old Bank</a> in Snettisham has held a Michelin listing since 2019 and prides itself on offering fresh, modern and imaginative food, using the very best local ingredients.</p>
