<p>Attleborough certainly won&#8217;t leave you wanting. There&#8217;s the <a href="https://www.mulberrytree.co.uk/#post-restaurant-bar-hotel">Mulberry Tree</a> a hotel, restaurant and bar which does amazing cocktails and has a lovely garden perfect for a summer sesh. The <a href="https://www.brecklandlodge.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Breckland Lodge</a> is renowned for its carvery, but the coffee lounge makes for a lovely place to curl up with a hot chocolate (or something stronger) and relax. <a href="https://www.shimlasrestaurant.com">Shimlas</a> Indaian restaurant and take away&nbsp;will fast become your can&#8217;t be bothered to cook dinner pick, as will the proper fish and chips from <a href="https://www.facebook.com/Tomsfishbarattleborough/?locale=en_GB" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Tom’s Fish Bar</a> while trad pub <a href="https://www.thegamekeeper-norfolk.co.uk">The Gamekeeper</a>, owned by <a href="https://norfolk.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/woodfordes-brewery-pubs-woodbastwick/">Woodforde&#8217;s Brewery</a> (so you know the beer will be good), has your new local written all over it.</p>



<p>Sweet tooths won&#8217;t be disappointed in Attleborough with the freshly baked treats from <a href="https://www.facebook.com/thebakeryattleboroughnew" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Bakery</a>, the devilishly naughty thick milkshakes from <a href="https://www.facebook.com/mrsbeansltd/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mrs Beans</a> or frankly any of the glorious creations from <a href="https://bakeaholicsuk.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bakeaholics</a> (neither will your Insta feed as the shop with its neon lights and flower wall are an influencers dream). Wash this down with a coffee from <a href="https://www.instagram.com/attleboroughcoffeesmiths/">Coffeesmiths</a>. And for local produce you can&#8217;t beat <a href="https://www.attleboroughhallfarm.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Daisy’s Milk Shed</a> or <a href="https://tonyperkins.co.uk">Tony Perkins</a>, a family run butchers which has all your meat needs sorted for your next BBQs or Sunday roast.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-shop">SHOP</h2>



<p>Attleborough has a thriving and eclectic selection of shops on the high street. There&#8217;s <a href="https://susansworkbasket.co.uk">Susan&#8217;s Work-basket</a> for all you crafters out there, while <a href="https://www.classicroses.co.uk">Peter Beales</a> takes care of all your gardening needs but is of course renowned for its roses. There&#8217;s natural pet store, <a href="https://www.taylorspetfoods.co.uk">Taylors</a>, which is welcome news for those of you with pampered pooches, while watersports fans can buy everything from canoes, kayaks and stand up paddle boards to all the kit to wear on (or rather in) the water at <a href="https://www.norfolkwatersports.co.uk">The Boathouse</a> – see, eclectic! Fashion lovers should make a beeline for <a href="https://www.boutiqueatno10.com">The Boutique at No.10</a> which counts Gok Wan as a fan as the store was featured in his show<em> How To Look Good Naked</em> back in the day and wedding dress extraordinaire and needle whizz <a href="https://www.pinkcouture.co.uk">Pink Couture</a> attracts brides from all over. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-health-amp-wellbeing">HEALTH &amp; WELLBEING</h2>



<p>With a number of large GP practices in the town, access to healthcare is good. Norwich hospital isn&#8217;t far and there’s plenty of dentists in Attleborough too along with pharmacies, opticians, physiotherapists and a chiropractor. For gyms, most locals use the well-equipped <a href="https://nrhealthclub.co.uk/locations/attleborough">NR Health &amp; Fitness Club</a> while there&#8217;s no end of walking routes round <a href="https://www.suffolkwildlifetrust.org/knettishallheath">Knettishall Heath</a>, <a href="https://www.forestryengland.uk/thetford-forest" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Thetford Forest</a> or <a href="https://www.oldbuckenhamcountrypark.com">Old Buckenham Country Park</a> if you prefer to exercise in the great outdoors. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-community">COMMUNITY</h2>



<p>Smells like community spirit! Aside from a whole slew of annual events (Community Music Day, fireworks, town trails, harvest festivals, craft fairs), there&#8217;s <a href="https://www.connaughthall.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Connaught Hall</a> which is back open after refurbishment and hosting some great, affordable events including the <a href="https://attleboroughplayers.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Attleborough Players</a> which counts local BBC Radio Norfolk presenter, Kayleigh Poacher, as a member. Aside from this, there&#8217;s a thriving market (which has been held every Thursday since 1226!) and consists of a fish vending trailer, candy striped stalls and traditional, wooden barrows selling all manner of produce and locally made gifts. </p>

<p>Children love seeing the grazing ponies at <a href="https://www.suffolkwildlifetrust.org/knettishallheath" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Knettishall Heath</a>, one of many peaceful nature reserves nearby, there&#8217;s also <a href="https://www.oldbuckenhamcountrypark.com">Old Buckenham Country Park</a> which is another great spot for a walk and letting the kids and dogs run off steam (the annual <a href="https://www.oldbuckenhamcountrypark.com/balloon-festival">Hot Air Balloon Festival</a> is a must). There&#8217;s also <a href="https://www.zsea.org/banham">Banham Zoo</a> which scooped a gong for Best Family Attraction in the Muddy Awards 2024, <a href="https://www.snetterton.co.uk">Snetterton Circuit</a> for the petrol heads among you. While the thriving city of Norwich isn&#8217;t far either with no end of attractions.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.connaughthall.com">Connaught Hall</a> in town hosts some great affordable events but if you&#8217;re wanting more there&#8217;s the Muddy Award Winning <a href="https://www.thecornhall.co.uk/whats-on/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Corn Hall in Diss</a> (20 mins away) which offers everything from world class music, theatre, screenings and exhibitions, and of course Norwich (also 20 mins away) which has no end of cultural happenings.</p>

<p>Attleborough has an impressive sporting heritage which includes footballers John and Justin Fashanu, who went to school there in the Seventies, and legendary racing driver Ayrton Senna, who lived there in the Eighties. Maybe Snetterton Circuit is what inspired his love of racing&#8230;?</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-commute">COMMUTE</h2>



<p>A fab spot for commuters, Attleborough has its own train station with trains hourly to Cambridge and Norwich where trains direct to London Liverpool Street run every 30 mins. Norwich can be reached by car in 20 mins, Cambridge in under 1 hr and London in just over 2 hrs.</p>
