Reader Treats Just For You!

Meet the Muddy Awards Finalists

And here they are your Muddy Awards Finalists 2019 - the best of the best local independent businesses as nominated by you!

First of all, a massive thank you to everyone who has taken part so far in the Muddy Stiletto Awards this year – we’ve seen an incredible rise of 100% of readers nominating on the Awards compared to last year, so you’re clearly in love with local too!

I’m always a bit conflicted at this point in the Awards. It’s super-fun to discover cool indie businesses, and see which village or town is having its moment! And  I love telling the excited Finalists they’ve made it through. But there are so many incredible businesses whose journey stops today (though get in touch if you think we should be featuring you anyway – I’m all ears!).

The Finals start and voting opens on Wednesday 15 May at 9am. They come and go in just 7 days, so if you love a local business and want to give it a pat on the back, head to the Awards site and do your bit before it slips your mind (yeah, I know what you’re like) because the Finalist with the most votes will be crowned Winner.

Right, that’s enough blather from me. Time to meet the Finalists. Who gets your vote?

Richard Jarmy is an extremely amazing photographer. The thought of being photographed on our wedding day is not something we were looking forward to. Richard however made us very relaxed at our wedding pre shoot and on our wedding day. He just knew what photos to take and how to organise everybody.
Richard’s photography and personality on our wedding day can be summed up in four words ‘he made our wedding’
Richard Jarmy HAS to be the photographer of the year

  • Donna Cossey May 17, 2019

Hi, I run Music In Motion, a finalist in the Best Children’s Business category. We pretend to go on an imaginary train then have a different theme each week to sing about! We have classic nursery ryhmes and modern songs, puppets, instruments, parachute, tap sticks, props and lots more. I have just started a Craft Club and also now go into residential homes with little ones to sing with the elderly. Every week is so much fun. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful business. The people and little ones I get to meet make it wonderful. I am beyond happy to have made it to the finals. I run it by myself with the advice of my two little boys who tell me what will make things more fun! Well done to everyone in the finals.
