Vegan Spa & Afternoon Tea at Barnham Broom Hotel - is this the ultimate guilt free spa experience?
Norwich has been named the most Vegan friendly city in the UK and although I’m not quite ready to go the full hog (pun intended), I was more than happy to pop along to Barnham Broom Hotel for a guilt free Vegan Spa and Afternoon Tea (£75).
An inspired new addition to Barnham Broom’s Spa packages, this treatment uses 100% vegan and cruelty free products from luxury beauty brand Ytsara. The journey started with a back exfoliation and massage and finished with a mini facial and coconut oil scalp massage.
It is hard to wax lyrical about a good massage or facial because if done well there’s not much more to say other than it was wonderfully relaxing. For me, the devil is in the detail, from the physical space to the quality of the products and consistency of therapists.
From the moment I walk in the door I want to feel pampered, and Barnham Broom has always delivered excellent customer service. On this occasion, the simple act of offering an ankle bolster (to relieve pressure whilst being massaged) made me feel looked after.
The rooms are large and decorated with warm rich colours which instantly relaxes. Most have a toilet which makes last minute needs much easier to accomodate. I’m sure I’m not the only person to have nervously engaged pelvic floor at the start of a massage which subsequently ruined the whole experience.
I personally love a massage/facial combo – so this package certainly delivers as you get a little bit of everything. Plus you get to finish the journey with a vegan afternoon tea, which to my surprise was rather tasty (even my mum agreed – after telling me that vegans are more likely to suffer from strokes, really mother??)
Admittedly, I’m a butter and clotted cream gal myself, however the Barnham Broom team have created a brilliant substitute which I’m sure would pass any Vegan taste test.
