There's no better way to get in the festive mood than a Christmas Market and there's still 13 markets to catch. Get shopping #lovelocal

Tis the season to shop and our recent consumer survey revealed that the majority of our readers are inspired to shop locally. Which is wonderful news as Christmas Markets and Fairs are the perfect opportunity to support ‘very’ local producers and get some fabulously creative and sustainable gifts for the family.

Norfolk is buzzing with Christmas Markets and Fayres popping up everywhere, it’s hard to keep up. If I’ve missed any please pop them in the comments box below!

 

Festive Fair, Kings Lynn, Thurs 28th November – Sun 22nd December

Taking place over four weekends (Thursday and Friday 4pm til 8pm, Saturday 10am – 6pm and Sunday 11am – 4pm). Live traditional, acoustic and festive music will be on the bandstand including the Rock Choir and the town band. There’ll be fairground rides for little ones and adults can enjoy the artisan food, drink and craft stalls.

Dalegate Christmas Market, Burnham Deepdale, Fri 29th November to Sun 1st December

Christmas bah humbug funny tree decorationsMore than 120 local artisans and producers are setting out their stalls in large marquees, the backpacker’s barn and St Mary’s church. An opportunity to look for unusual gifts, decorations, jewellery, toys and books as well as lots of tasty food and drink treats. Entertainment throughout the weekend including live music.

Great Yarmouth Christmas FayreGreat Yarmouth Minster, the Priory Centre and the Market Place, Fri 29th November to Sun 1st December 

wooden christmas markets hutsA three-day Christmas extravaganza with plenty of stalls and entertainment. The market place will host a large marquee and  wooden chalets selling festive food and gifts. The Minster is home to unique handcrafted gifts and baked goods and the Priory Centre has been turned into Santa’s Grotto. Plus the Christmas lights switch on and fireworks (Fri evening)!

Christmas Cake Bringing you all the best Norfolk food & drink with over 40 stalls to shop plus Santa’s Grotto and his reindeer, street food & Pop-Up cafe, Christmas biscuit decorating and festive face painting, crafts and hamper wrapping services available.

Global Village Christmas Market, The Forum, Norwich, Thurs 5th – Sat 7th December 

Expect stalls with beautiful hand crafted gifts and decorations from all over the world. Enjoy mulled wine and festive food to the tune of a brass band and carollers.

Holkham Festive Food Fair, Holkham Hall Sat 14th & Sun 15th December

It’s the mother of all Christmas food fairs – with all the best local and regional producers will be showcasing their seasonal food and drink for you to try, and buy. The list is endless – from homemade jams, chutneys and cheeses, to Norfolk gins, wine and beers. It’s a great opportunity to stock up on ingredients for your Christmas feast and pick up few gifts for the food lovers in your family too!

There will be live cookery theatre in The Lady Elizabeth Wing with a theme of ‘Game On’ – local chefs will be cooking up a storm, demonstrating new and exciting ways to make your Christmas dinner or Boxing Day feasts pop this year!

Redwings Horse Sanctuary Christmas Fair, Caldecott Hall, Fritton, Sun 8th December

Enjoy a venture into a mini winter wonderland at Redwings Caldecott this December when the Norfolk visitor centre hosts its first ‘Traditional Christmas Fayre’. Browse a variety of stalls from artisan food to jewellery and wreaths to children’s toys.

Cuddle a donkey, watch Chef demonstrations from Nigel Raffles offering top tips on how to cook up the perfect Christmas lunch. Plus pick up your Christmas tree at the same time.

Norwich Community Choir and City of Norwich Brass Band will be the backdrop to this vegan Christmas festival with plenty of stalls selling gifts and plant-based Christmas treats

Snowflake ExtravaganzaThe Cathedral of St John the Baptist, Norwich, Mon 16th December

A festive evening (4.30pm to 8pm) full of lovely local goodies, carol singing, mulled wine/mince pies and activities for children. Join in the carol concert in the main cathedral which starts at 6.30pm.

Featuring some of the County’s finest award winning artists, crafters, designers & artisans. Plus activities for children and free entertainment from special guest perfomer The Yarnsmith of Norwich – as seen at the British Museum.

Lots of local stall holders offering a brilliant range of unique and interesting crafts and products – ideal for finding those ‘original’ presents! Including Deco Diva, who specialise in hand decorated glass and ceramics, Kiddibox Surprise, who design and fill boxes for children of all ages made for all the important special occasions and Granny’s Little Charms – shabby chic handmade gifts and crafts!

Sandringham Christmas Craft Fair, Sandringham House, Fri 15th to Sun 17th November
Sandringham’s Christmas Crafts Fair is a full day out with live music, kids’ crafts, a magical owl display and N&J Shire’s heavy horses. Plus a magical display of ice sculptures, a huge food hall and over 150 crafters. Not forgetting Father Christmas and his reindeer plus the pièce de résistance – take a ride in a unicorn-drawn carriage!

The Courtyard Festive Fair, Elveden Estate, Sat 16th & Sun 17th November

Plus lots of lovely local food and drink to browse (and try) before taking home for your festive dining table.

The 2019 Christmas Fair in aid of Thornage Hall will be packed with over 40 fantastic stalls selling brilliant Christmas gifts and stocking fillers. Kickstart your Christmas shopping and help a good cause! If you fancy a little late night shopping, they have a preview evening on Wed 20th November which includes a glass of fizz.

Craft & Gift Festive Fair, The Forum, Norwich, Thurs 21st – Sun 24th November

Nestled in 75 acres of parkland and woods, Holt Hall is a magical place for a Christmas Fair. You’ll be greeted with a 15-foot Christmas tree, log fire and over 65 stalls showcasing creative Christmas gifts including local food and drink, clothing, crafts, paintings, children’s books, Christmas wreaths, decorations, glassware, art and candles.

Creake Abbey’s Christmas Gift Fair, Creake Abbey, Sat 23rd November

Creake Abbey’s farmers markets are fabulous so this promises to be a goodie. The Courtyard will be packed with over 60 local creatives selling all sorts of Christmas wonder including gorgeous children’s clothing from Peggy Page, homeware and accessories from Marshes and Flint, doggie accessories from Ruff and Tumble and Dapper Dog and antiques and homewares from Home by Annie Lambert. The Creake Abbey Food Hall will be bursting with festive cheeses, hams and other local produce.

Bespoke creations, creative gift ideas and delicious treats made from local producers plus live music and complimentary mulled wine and mince pies for members. The Christmas Market is held in the courtyard hub area so you do not need to pay, however there is a reduced admission park entry of £8pp (under 3’s free)
Christmas Shopping Evenings, Holkham Hall, Thurs 28th November

Somerleyton Hall is such a beautiful venue for a Christmas Fair. Locally sourced products, hand-made gifts and collectables. Grab a mulled wine and a mince pie from the food hall and join in the Christmas carols around the open fire. Plus Father Christmas and pony rides.
