Pre-Christmas Pamper!

I popped along to The Massage Hut in Cromer to see if they could get rid of my walnut size knots and help me face the merry madness!

Hands up who’s already feeling a little pre-Christmas stress?

The next four weeks will be a military operation in the Muddy house – juggling Santa lists, shopping for presents and food, school shows, Christmas drinks and family politics. Arghhh! my shoulders are so tense they’re permanently up by my ears!

So here’s a little idea ladies – step off the Christmas conveyer belt for an hour and give yourself an early present. I popped along to The Massage Hut in Cromer for some much needed stress relief and to see if the lovely Christie could prepare me for the next four weeks of Yuletide madness.

Set in the grounds of the beautiful Grove Hotel, there was something quite magical about having a massage in a cosy hut hidden among the trees. With a range of holistic massages to choose from, I opted for a back, shoulder and neck massage in the hope that Christie could work away my walnut sized knots.

The session started with a lovely chat to establish my general physical and mental state.  It was a nice prelude to the experience and it made me think that rather than being a frivolous pamper, this should be something I do regularly to balance my mental wellbeing.

I try really hard to switch off my brain during a massage but no matter how hard I try, my ‘to do’ list gets amplified and before I know it – it’s all over!

However, two things really made this experience stand out for me:

1) The 10 minute chat at the beginning really helped to clear my head and focus me on the holistic benefits of massage.

2) The choice of music – a well chosen playlist of classical tunes replaced the usual pan pipes and amazingly, I relaxed completely for the full hour.

I now feel ready to lead the charge and with a New Year’s resolution to schedule in regular massages in 2019.

I highly recommend a visit and for more information on offers, vouchers and afternoon tea packages visit The Massage Hut in our Little Black Book.
