As somebody whose mum is currently battling breast cancer, I can’t stress enough how important fund-raising events like this are – after all, we can’t find a cure without investing in research. If you know of somebody who has been affected by the disease – or if you yourself have – head to The Mercure Hotel this Friday and dance your socks off to live music followed by a DJ playing a string of hits from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. Tickets cost £35 and include a three-course dinner. Dress code: black tie.
