7 things to do this Easter

Can you believe it’s the last day of term again – where does the time go? And with your darlings at home for the next two weeks, some plans (and reinforcements) are going to be needed. Luckily we are here to help – deep breath, let’s go:

Free archery taster sessions, The Quarry, Kings Lynn – Sat 1 Apr:

Hit the bullseye with a free archery lesson – simply turn up between 1pm and 3pm and give it a go. Run by a team of Archery GB -trained coaches, the session aims to encourage more children to get involved in the sport. Age 8+

Pied Piper, Norwich Puppet Theatre, Norwich – Sat 1 Apr:

This classic children’s book is brought to life through puppetry and storytelling for one day only. With just one person operating all the characters in the story, it’s no wonder that The Guardian Theatre Reviewer Lyn Gardner hailed it ‘fantastic’.

Pirates Live, Hippodrome, Great Yarmouth – from Sat 1 Apr:

Join Johnny Mac and Jack Jay for some swashbuckling fun in the all new, live water show. Expect singing, dancing, circus tricks and a good dose of mischief in this popular family-favourite.

Egg-cellent Easter, Dinosaur Adventure, Lenwade – Sat 1 – Mon 17 Apr:

With a full itinerary of Easter-inspired events – including egg hunts and special events – children won’t be bored. If they do tire of the eggy stuff, there’s a dinosaur trail, adventure playground secret animal garden to keep them occupied; there’s a good café for adults.

ROOTS Spring Family Picnic, Blakeney – Sun 2 Apr:

Bring your own picnic and picnic blanket, and join other families to celebrate spring. Take part in nature-themed activities, springtime crafting or child-led outdoor play before purchasing hot drinks and cakes for sale (for the kids, there’s campfire treats).

Russells International Circus, Sheringham – Mon 3 – Mon 17 Apr:

Voted Best UK Circus in 2016, Russells International Circus is performed in a 1,000-seater Big Top where spectators are treated to two-hours of actioned-packed entertainment. Watch daredevils from Brazil and Romania perform spellbinding stunts and circus tricks.

Spring Fling, Norfolk Showground, Norwich – Tue 4 Apr:

Get your 4-11 year olds interested in food and farming at this Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association-sponsored event, now in its 18th year. Feed spring lambs, learn how to make ice-cream, ride on a tractor or retrieve honey from a hive.
