Small is beautiful
Ooh Norwich Airport you little beauty – and just in time for spring too! No more eye-rubbingly early flights or dark trips down the M11 to Stanstead with just the lorry drivers for company. Just a hop and a skip to your local airport and your chariot awaits Sir (or Madam,).
What Norwich International Airport (to give it its correct title) lacks in size, it makes up for in efficiency, with passengers through check in, passport control and security quicker than you can say “fancy a cheeky glass of Vino to get us into the holiday spirit?” Don’t mind if I do.
So which gems await Norwich passengers this season – take a pew Muddy readers:
It’s over a decade since Norwich had the luxury of flying holidaymakers to sunnier climes, but from 16 March all that will change. Flamenco, Tapas, Sangria and sunshine will once again be on the horizon for Norfolk folk wanting to avoid the hassle of getting to a London airport. Alicante (pictured) and Malaga lead the way – will more destinations follow Flybe? Let’s hope so…
Sod four hours on a train or six excruciating “are we nearly there yet” hours in a car, Muddy readers will be able to fly direct to Exeter, the gateway to Devon, in just an hour with Flybe from 24 March. That’s right, ONE hour. That’s a lunch break in most places (if you’re lucky!). Think pristine beaches, whitewashed cliffs and cream teas.
Perfect for a city break, Geneva will be on Norwich’s radar from October. Do a spot of pre-Christmas shopping, take lunch on the banks of the sparkling lake or get lost in the city’s old town (pictured) before enjoying dinner in a traditional Swiss restaurant.
All hail the local airport.
