Red Card Comedy Club, Top of the Terrace, Carrow Road, Fri 25th January   

January is a long month, so we recommend a big dose of laughter at the Red Card Comedy Club.

Acts include musical comedian Andy Askins, Joey Page and Ivo Graham plus host Tom Webb. You’ll recognise some of them by face from various panel show appearances!

Rocky Shock Horror, Norwich Playhouse, Sat 26th Jan

Anything that describes itself as a comedy-drag-boxing-musical-extravanganza HAS to be worth a watch! In this new show from The Wardrobe Theatre, Rocky Featherboa takes a rock ‘n’ roll journey through the camp streets of Philadelphia on his quest for stardom. Join in if you dare!

Better Baby & Toddler Sleep Workshop, OPEN Norwich, Sat 26th January

If you’re struggling with intermittent sleep due to your gorgeous little bundle of joy then this workshop at OPEN Norwich is for you! Cyan Traces kick off Sheringham Little Theatre’s jazz programme with a varied and inventive night of music. Expect both unusual material and new arrangements of old favourites, all delivered by top-notch jazz players. This is culture with a twist.

Antiques, Books & Vintage, The Forum, Norwich, Sun 27th January

This vintage fair at The Forum is just the place to pick up a few hidden gems! Browse through stalls packed with rare books, ceramics, silver, jewellery and much more and see if you can find a pre-loved treasure. The ideal way to spend a lazy Sunday.

Worth The Weight Kilo Sale, St Andrew’s Hall, Norwich, Sun 27th January

£15 for a kilo of vintage clothing? Yes, you did read that right! Head down to St Andrew’s Hall, grab a bag and start filling it with vintage clothing from the 60’s to the 90’s – as much as you like! This is a dream event for both vintage lovers and bargain hunters alike. We’ll see you there!

Book tickets £1.50 or £3 if you want to get in an hour before everyone else.

 

Circus! Show of shows, Time & Tide Museum, Gt Yarmouth – Tues 8th Jan – Sun 3rd March 

Need to get the kids out of the house before they start hibernating? This exhibition takes you on a journey from the origins of Hippodrome Circus in Ancient Greece through to the Great Yarmouth ‘Hippodrome’ of modern day. Think Greatest Showman with a little less Jazz. Follow it with a brisk walk along the promenade, some penny arcade action and donuts and it’s a family day out sorted!

The Tiger Who Came To Tea Exhibition, Blickling Hall, Sat 12th January – Sun 3rd March

A family favourite in the Muddy household and I can’t wait to take the Muddlings to see this new exhibition celebrating the book’s 50th Birthday. Littlies can enjoy interactive play with a life-sized tiger in Blickling’s 1930s kitchen whilst surrounded by displays of Judith Kerr’s illustrations, notes and sketches. The exhibition will also feature family trails in the house and garden!

The Mechanical Circus, The Forum, Norwich, Wed 2nd – Sun 27th January

It’s the end of the Circus 250 celebrations and The Forum will be hosting an exhibition of mechanical sculptures, physics games and puzzles. This is circus with a physical twist (and we’re not talking acrobats!)

Ken Kiff: The Sequence, The Sainsbury Centre, Norwich, now until Sun 21st April 

The Sainsbury Centre is always a great way to spend a few hours and this colourful exhibition might even grab the kids’ interest. Widely considered to be one of the most important artists of his generation, Kiff spent his career exploring issues that fused the complexity of the individual psyche with everyday life. This major exhibition is the first showing of his work in a public gallery for over 25 years.

Plus – explore the brilliant works in the Sculpture Park – Lynn Chadwick’s Steel Beasts are still in situ.
