Royal Norfolk Show, Norfolk Showground, Norwich, Wed 26th & Thurs 27th June 

The Royal Norfolk Show is always a highlight of the local calendar. There’s just so much to see and do that it’s impossible to list it all here – but with over 650 stalls and more than 3000 animals, you’re sure to get an idea! Plus, for those who like to party, there’s the famous Show Ball in aid of EACH too.

Les Musicals, Kings Lynn Corn Exchange, Thurs 27th June

If you’re a fan of G4, Britain’s Got Talent, musical theatre (or all of the above!), then Les Musicals is the show for you. Jonathan Ansell and Jai McDowall will be belting out all of the classic songs from productions such as Wicked!, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Greatest Showman, We Will Rock You and many more. Get ready to sing your socks off!

Small Island – NT Live, Sheringham Little Theatre, Thurs 27th June

This adaptation of the award-winning novel is filmed live on stage by the National Theatre as part of their 10th birthday celebrations. Three strangers are on journeys, both physically – from Jamaica to UK – and personally, in their own hopes and dreams, as the world of 1940s Britain changes too.

Open Air Cinema, Holkham Estate, Fri 28th & Sat 29th June

Two of the biggest cinema hits from the last year – The Greatest Showman and Bohemian Rhapsody – are shown in all their glory in the beautiful surrounds of Holkham Hall‘s walled garden. Bring a picnic and relax under the stars.

Beer Festival, Kelling Heath, Fri 28th June – Mon 1st July

Kelling Heath hosts its annual Beer Festival at the end of the month, and it’s one that’s worth the wait! As well as loads of local beers and ciders, there’ll be kids’ activities, wildlife walks, a village market and more. Crack out the tents and get camping – at least you won’t have to worry about a taxi home!



Cirque Eloize – Hotel, Theatre Royal Norwich, Fri 28th & Sat 29th June

Step inside the ‘Grand Hotel’ and witness the spectacular performance of Cirque Eloize, a Canadian contemporary circus company who bring drama, stunts, acrobatics and music to the stage of the Theatre Royal. Prepare to be mesmerised!

Dinos At Night, ROARR Dinosaur Adventure, Lenwade, Sat 29th June

The award-winning Dinos At Night is back at Roarr! Prowl around the park at dusk and see the dinosaurs at twilight – but it doesn’t stop there! Learn about the stars with the Norwich Astronomy Club, dance to the Joe Ringer Band and see all the attractions in Funfair Alley! Just watch out for the walking T-Rex…

Festival Too, King’s Lynn, Sat 29th June – Sat 13th July

King’s Lynn’s Festival Too is a two-week musical extravaganza that totally transforms the town and sees some very famous names take to the stage for a fortnight of entertainment! As well as names such as Cast, Judge Jules, Nadine Coyle, 5ive and more, there are street activities and fireworks too. Amazingly, it’s all free too. Yes, you did read that right. The clue is in the name!



Swannington Open Gardens, (nr Reepham), Sun 30th June 

I love a little nosey around other people’s gardens for a bit of green fingered inspiration and Swannington has ten beautiful private gardens for you to explore. Grab a cream tea at the old refectory and a Pimms on the terrace at Swannington Manor before heading to the common for the BBQ and beer tent.

Craft for the kids, classic cars for the dads and cake for mum – midsummer perfection!

The Body Observed, Magnum Photos, The Sainsbury Centre, Norwich, June 2019

Sexuality, identity, voyeurism and more – from the 1930s to the present, this Sainsbury Centre exhibition explores what happens when Magnum photographers focus their gaze on topics which relate to the body and everything which relates to it.

Norfolk & Norwich Open Studios, Norfolk, Mon 3rd – Sun 9th June 

Art Trails, events and demonstrations – see art, buy art and meet the artists, with over 250 studios to visit across Norfolk. Some lovely events are happening across the county, including this Saturday’s ‘The Magic Garden at Night’: you won’t meet Macca Pacca but you will enjoy an evening of art, food, music and lights as Will Wright’s unique studio space comes to life at night with music from Milly Hirst.

Big Fish, Little Fish – Father’s Day Family Rave, Epic Studios, Norwich Sun 16th June 


One for all the über cool dads wanting a nostalgic trip down rave lane but this time with the kids in tow – day time raving is the way forward! Plus you get to bed at a normal time, it is a school night after all.

DJ`s Food (Ninja Tune) will be playing a special Audio Visual set of rave classics with support from Moving Shadow`s DJ Trax. Summer Solstice at The Fire Pit Camp, Wendling, Fri 21st – Sun 23rd June

One of my favourite chill out venues in Norfolk. This beautiful eco glamping site is the perfect venue for weddings and events (see my review) and now it’s home to a weekend of summer solstice celebrations.

The weekend starts on Friday in the über cool warehouse bar with street food, music and a family drumming workshop with Norwich Samba.

First Light Lowestoft, Lowestoft South Beach, Sat 22nd & 23rd June 

First Light Festival is a brand-new, 24-hour festival of the arts that runs continuously across the weekend through the hours of light and dark.  There’ll be over 100 different events taking place, so you can watch, dance, listen and see the sun rise and set at Britain’s most easterly point. And best of all, it’s free!



Midsummer Nights Gin Festival, The King’s Head, Letheringsett, Sat 22nd June

The King’s Head is one of Muddy’s favourite pubs and when you add in a celebration of local gins, it just gets better and better! Work your way through their extensive gin selection, listen to live music in the garden and glug a few cocktails in the marquee too. That sounds like a pretty perfect Saturday to us…



Family Fun Day, The King’s Head, Letheringsett, Sun 23rd June

…and if you’ve had a few too many gins at The King’s Head the night before, why not return the day after to let the kids run riot at their Family Fun day? They can get arty and crafty whilst you sit in the garden with a glass of something refreshing and watch whilst they burn off their energy. Did someone say hair of the dog?
