Superflashy Newsflash

Hey there, busy lady - have you heard the latest? We've got the hottest news and gossip in Norfolk. Shall we?

Tom Jones Concert, Earlham Park, Norwich, Sun 16th August
Phwoah – now here’s a man who just gets better with age! It’s not unsual these days to get some big names performing in Norwich and this year Welsh God and Super Star legend – Tom Jones will be taking to the stage this summer in Earlham Park. I can’t think of a better way to spend a sunny (hopefully) afternoon kicking back in the park with Tom crooning away his classics. Such is his universal appeal, I reckon it’s a day out for all the family from gramps to babes – Tres Magic!
Book tickets: From £44

Big Norwich Weekend, Sat 4th & Sun 5th April 2020
Love this new initiative from Visit Norwich. They are offering you the opportunity to win hundreds of free pairs of tickets for popular attractions, experiences, and hidden gems in Norfolk. It’s free to enter the ballot and you can apply for as many tickets as you like – there are over 50 opportunties to win. A few of our lovely Muddy businesses are taking part including; The Norfolk Mead Hotel, Holkham, intu Chapelfield, Lisa Angel, Maids Head Hotel, Open and Park Farm!
Be quick as the ballot closes on Mon 16th March!

The Wenns Chop & Ale House, Kings Lynn
Goldings be gone and hello The Wenns Chop & Ale House! Michael Baldwin from one of our favourite Kings Lynn venues, The Bank House, has taken over the reins with two other local businessmen and given this bar a complete facelift. The bar has been returned to its original pub roots, which includes the name, and will be specialising in local ale, tapas-style plates and hearty steak and grill dishes and we can’t wait to visit!
King’s Lynn is definitely on the up – lots of independent businesses popping up in and around the historic market places and the KL Corn Exchange programme is looking good this year. If you fancy making a night of it, The Wenns also offer six lovely rooms!

Chatty Chairs, intu Chapelfield
This fab local charity initiative caught my eye recently, probably because I like a good natter! Pop along to intu in Norwich and on the lower ground floor (just outside Boots), you’ll find a new seated area designed to encourage people to sit and have a chat. This is part of a national mental health initiative across the shopping centre network and locally intu Chapelfield will be working with Norfolk and Waveney Mind to run events encouraging more conversations between visitors. Whether it’s a few minutes respite or a place to eat lunch, you might just find yourself in a conversation which changes the course of somebody’s day!

Two Norfolk pubs make the Top 50 Gastro Pubs list!
Estrella Damm announced their Top 50 Gastro Pubs in the UK earlier in the year and we’re pleased to see two of our Norfolk favourites on the list – The Gunton Arms and The White Horse in Brancaster Staithe. Not a surprise as we’ve reviewed them and they’re both triple cooked chip ‘tastic!
The Gunton Arms is set in a thousand acre deer farm and is a meat eaters paradise. Plus, the art will certainly raise a few eyebrows!
If you’re looking for something on the coast, locations and views don’t get much better than The White Horse in Brancaster Staithe. Read both our reviews – The Gunton Arms & The White Horse.
