Superflashy Newsflash

Psst! New luxury lifestyle store in Holt, something fishy at Jarrolds and curated vintage. Read on for all the hot gossip .....

OPENING – Fairfax & Favor, Holt

Beyond excited by this announcement – luxury lifestyle brand, Fairfax & Favor are opening their first high street store in Holt this month. With a royal and celeb following, ladies you need to schedule a cheeky little trip ASAP!

Born and bred right here in Norfolk (naturally) – Felix and Marcus, the brains behind the brand, wanted to bridge the gap between casual and formal, countryside and the city, style and adventure. Six years on, a few bumps along the way (don’t mention Gucci) and they are flying high with a beautiful range of boots and shoes, handbags and now lifestyle clothing.

I was lucky enough to visit their new showroom at Narford Hall, and couldn’t resist a pair of their launch pad boots – The Regina. A reimagining of the classic Spanish riding boot which comes in flat or heel, three different colours and calf sizes – these boys really have thought of everything.

The Loxley Shoulder Bag (black, navy or tan) £395

Watch this space for our Fairfax & Favor fashion feature coming to the site soon and if you can claw it away from me – a rather lovely handbag giveaway this October!

EATING OUT – Bay Restaurant, Jarrold, Norwich

More luxury heading your way in the shape of new fish and champagne restaurant The Bay, which opens this month.

Bringing a bit of the Harvey Nics experience to Norwich – the former second floor stock room at Jarrolds has been transformed into a sumptious aqua marine themed dining room with a gorgeous circular bar centre piece.

All very plush and sumptious, The Bay will be Jarrolds’ sixth instore restaurant and will boast the only caviar menu for miles around. Specialising in seafood, the lip smacking menu includes freshly cured salmon, taster boards, homemade fish pie and Lobster Bisque. Sounds like the perfect excuse to rock the glam for a girly night out, a romantic dinner or simply post work blinis with a bellini!

DONT MISS – The Vintage Hub, Norwich

Good news for all vintage lovers – The Fabulous Miss K has rounded up all the best local suppliers and popped them under one roof at the new  ‘The Vintage Hub’ opening this month at The Treasure Chest on St Benedicts Street, Norwich.

Curated collections of vintage clothing will be available to buy from the likes of Cactus Vintage, Dress Up, Fabulous Miss K Store, Gold Thrift Vintage,  Morwenna Farrell Illustrations, Wake Up Little Susie  and Wild Daisy Vintage.

NEW NAME – Castle Quarter, Norwich
The Castle Mall is having a reinvention, the name has changed to the Castle Quarter and they’re on a mission to become the No. 1 mixed use destination for leisure, entertainment and shopping.
In addition to the Vue Cinema and Pure Gym, Castle Quarter now boasts a Super Bowl UK and Retro Replay (gaming arcade) and plans are afoot to expand the dining and retail options too.
Anyone else remember when the Castle Mall opened 26 years ago – a shopping centre under Norwich Castle, who would have thought it?? It has needed a bit of TLC in recent years, so I’m very excited to see this redevelopment which will hopefully bring a lovely new space in the city for all the family to enjoy.

TRAVEL – 2020 fly to Cornwall from Norwich Airport

Hoorah – next year you’ll be able to jump on a flight to Newquay and be in Cornwall within 80 minutes as opposed to a 8 plus hour rail or road journey.

Logan Air launches this new flightpath on 3rd April 2020, with fares from £59.99 one way. Prices will include a free checked baggage allowance, allocated seating and in-flight refreshments. (Ryanair look and learn)

Monday and Friday services will operate throughout the summer, with extra Sunday services from May to September and a further additional Wednesday flight in July and August.
