Hey lady, heads up for the cool stuff coming up. New openings, great pop up food and a bit of culture. All on your Muddy radar.
Culture Vulture: Grayson Perry: The Pre-Therapy Years at SCVA (check website for dates tbc)
There’s lots to look forward to this year, including the fabulous National Treasure Grayson Perry’s exhibition at The Sainsbury Centre. Grayson Perry: The Pre-Therapy Years is the first exhibition to survey Perry’s earliest forays into the art world, reintroducing the explosive and creative works he made between 1982 and 1994 – getting him the name as ‘the Transvestite potter’ Literally cannot wait for this!
Staycay dream: The Harper
A place where anything goes and nothing is too much trouble – now that’s my kinda place 🙂 Opening this spring 2021, The Harper is the much anticipated new boutique hotel & SPA opening on the stunning North Norfolk coast. With 32 bedrooms, luxury bedding and super-slick bathrooms, plus house cocktails in your fridge, there’s really not much more on the Muddy tick list. If you’re extra-special you might even get a membership.
Coming soon… Muddy’s Best Places To Live
Psssst! Where did your vote go to? Our BPTL campaign results are IN. I can’t tell you where the winner is yet, you’ll have to wait a little longer – sorry. Expect drumrolls, fanfare and fireworks, of the digital sort.
Three lockdown launches we love
Serious chocolate lover? Then you need a Lifetime of Chocolate. Chloe is a 23 year old Norfolk trained former pastry chef at Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir Aux Quat’ Saisons, and since launching her sustainably packaged treats for postage to choccy addicts in lockdown, has seen a surge in interest and orders. Chloe is now planning to open her own chocolate shop in the Norwich Lanes. Bring it on!
Lawless Pizza in Aylsham has gained a loyal following since owner Michael began the venture last summer. Woodfired 9 inch pizzas in the classic flavours (margherita/spicy salami /roasted veg) are hand-stretched and topped with the best local ingredients – and at only £6 each, it’s no wonder he’s sold out every week. Fridays 5 – 8pm, Aylsham Market Square.
Fupburger offers gourmet ‘dirty’ burgers with a punch and basically makes all other burgers look a bit pathetic. With names like Mother Fupper (35 day aged beef patties) The Dirty Clucker (spicy fried chicken) and Das Veganfurter, you’ll be grinning while you devour. Thurs – Sun The Earlham, Norwich / The Cap, 23 Thoroughfare, Harleston.
Beer Garden, anyone?
Safe to say we’re all looking forward to April 12th, where we can once again join our loved ones for a pint of the cold stuff in a sunny beer garden. You might be longing to scamper back in to your local, but if you fancy something further afield, check out our favourite pub garden feature here.
