Woofers and Barkers of Holt
Muddy says: If you’re serious about your dog’s style, wellbeing and diet – Woofers and Barkers of Holt is THE boutique for man’s best friend.
Woofers & Barkers of Holt (yes that is a tongue in cheek nod to the famous Bakers & Larners) is a brilliant addition to the latest pet pampering trend to hit Norfolk. And fashion is absolutely what springs to mind when you enter this stylish shop – designer jumpers, rain macs, puffer jackets and Italian leather collars and leads are just a few of the beautiful things available for your four legged friend.
On your first visit, you might think you’ve stumbled into a children’s boutique, such is the array of colourful merino/cashmere wool jumpers, country tweed coats and gorgeous blankets.
Owners Martin and Sarah have a retail background which is clearly visible in layout and design details such as the upcycled railway sleeper shelves and cute dog mannequin displays.
Like many stores in Holt, the building is Georgian and therefore is full of quirky character and that’s before you start perusing the wonderful stock. Laid out over three rooms, the first is dedicated to clothing and bedding and the second has a large selection of designer collars, leads, bow and neck ties. For those in the doggie know – you’ll find brands such as Mutts & Hounds, Morso, The Painter’s Wife and Duvalais.
The third room is full of doggie treats and toys – doggie heaven with lots of colourful chews and toys all ticking the organic, sustainable and ethical boxes. Also, who knew there was such a variety of doggie treats available? Not me and I have three very pampered pooches! I was very excited to see frozen yoghurt (keeps them happy while you enjoy a cuppa next door in the cafe), herbal tummy soothers for sensitive dispositions and biscuits from local supplier ‘The Little Blue Pupcakery’ – which we love as Muddy is all about local.
This is THE place to come and spoil your number 1 pooch or in my case three. If I’m honest, I was tempted to try and fashion one of the leads for a belt such was the quality of the leather and design – I’ll let you know how I get on!
