The Unthank Arms, Norwich
A lively urban pub with great warmth and character at the heart of the Golden Triangle in Norwich. Outside courtyard & relaxed garden. Perfect for hosting BBQs.
Run by dramatically named landlord Nick De’Ath for over 30 years, The Unthank is a city gem at the heart of the Golden Triangle in Norwich. The exterior is classic Victorian public house – look at that splendidly glossy paintwork! And inside there’s lively, warm pub atmosphere and a light airy restaurant with a bistro vibe upstairs.
It’s a popular party and urban wedding venue (up to 200 guests) with a solid menu, hearty Sunday lunches and great wine list. We love that ALL the wines are also available by the glass, so you can sample a few as you work through some new ones – no need to drive in the city ladies!
There’s a courtyard and a large garden (with covered areas and heaters) for alfresco city nights and private summer parties, so you can host a laid back BBQ without lifting a beautifully manicured finger. And there are some pretty damn quirky evening events too – burlesque life drawing classes with Dr Sketchy anyone? Strut this way…
The Unthank’s popular with staff (and parents) from nearby Norwich High School for Girls, so if you want to know what they really think of your daughter’s behaviour, wear mysterious dark glasses and lurk by the most exhausted looking table…
