The Fur & Feather Inn, Woodbastwick

Muddy says: If you fancy some traditional, homely pub grub in the heart of the broads – then the Fur & Feather Inn ticks all the boxes.

red brick traditional thatched pub garden out front

Set in the beautiful village of Woodbastwick and a stone’s throw away from Salhouse Broad, this traditional thatched pub is the epitome of an idyllic country inn.

Think exposed red brick walls with flagstone floors, cosy fire places, a proper sized bar and some great art celebrating all that is great about Norfolk. There are three main eating areas inside and a great sun trap garden with plenty of outdoor seating with picture perfect views of the countryside.

Expect a busy vibe as locals and tourists alike enjoy a wide range of locally brewed beers, for this is home to Woodforde’s Brewery and THE place to sample from source! Plus new for 2018, they’ve just launched their first ever lager – ‘Conquest’ available on draught in specially selected pubs across East Anglia. Sounds like a good opportunity for a pub crawl to find it!!

If you fancy putting your pint down for a short while and learning more about the brewing process, you can book a tour and make a proper afternoon of it! (Muddy tip – book a taxi as there’s extensive range to sample)

They have a great programme of events all year round and it’s worth checking out their Facebook page to see what’s coming up. Plus the onsite shop is filled with Woodforde’s gift sets, local produce and creative merchandise – especially perfect for ‘him’ themed presents! (available to buy online too)

Last but not least – the ‘Hop Room’ is available for private hire and is a lovely space to hold a wedding reception, birthday party or christening – you get the idea.

Ps. It gets busy whatever the weather, so it’s worth booking ahead if you’re a big party!
