Imagine Spa, Kings Lynn

Muddy says: We love an Imagine Spa and this one in West Norfolk offers a nice pool, gym, thermal suite and mineral grotto. Plus you’re in safe hands and can expect a five star Temple Spa experience.

The Imagine Spa group has 13 spas in England and lucky for us Nor-folk we have five in our bootiful county.

Each Spa has it’s own USP, so if geography isn’t your deciding factor then it’s worth checking them all out here in our Little Black Book. However, whichever one you choose, you’re safe in the knowledge you’ll always receive the same high quality experience. Trust me – I’ve tested them all!

For those living in or visiting West Norfolk, I can highly recommend a visit to their purpose built spa situated within the grounds of the Best Western Knights Hill Hotel, Kings Lynn. Don’t let the ring road location be a deterrant, parking is stress free and as you leave the main road and enter the drive, you will be pleasantly surprised by this gorgeous period property.

The spa is a new build addition which means it’s fit for purpose with a nice sized swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna, a fully equipped gym, large changing rooms and coffee area.

The thing I loved about Imagine, Kings Lynn is that it’s the only one of the Norfolk group that can offer all of the above plus a Thermal Suite, Hammam, Serial Mud Bath, Mineral Grotto, Relaxation Room and five beautifully appointed treatment rooms. Devil is the detail – foot baths with complimentry foot scrub, face or hair masks to buy for £4 or a glass of bubbly (compulsory).

I’m slightly conscious of the whole meandering around in the robe thing, so the fact that the spa is completely enclosed and away from the hotel gets a big thumbs up. The secluded rooms also mean that you get a completely peaceful experience (no reception chatter).

I’ve fallen in love with the Temple Spa products and the ritual behind the treatments. Body decompression and a foot massage is incorporated into all massages and the facials feel incredibly sensual rather than formulaic.

There are a wide range of face and body treatments available, including my tried and tested favourites – The Totally Quenched & Drenched rehydration facial, Windows of the Soul – anti ageing eye treatment and the Work it Out deep muscle massage.

I can’t testify for the hotel but they do offer an Afternoon Tea, have a brasserie, manicured gardens and pub on site – so you could easily make a day or weekend of it!
