Ele and Me
Muddy says: Winner of our 2019 Muddy Award for best Children’s Business, this toy shop is all about sustainable, recycled, ethical and organic children’s products.
If you’re up in North Norfolk, move beyond the beach and harbour and explore some of the wonderful shops that Wells-next-the-Sea has to offer. Winner of the Muddy Award 2019 for Best Children’s Business – Ele and Me is all about sustainable, recycled, ethical and organic children’s products – perfect if you like to shop with a conscience. Every brand they stock has a story, from the magnetic wooden blocks, made from hand picked trees and part of social impact cooperative in Honduras to the locally produced natural shampoo bars.
You can spend hours exploring the handcrafted toys, carefully selected books and organic range of baby products. It’s the perfect place to find a unique gift, gorgeous children’s clothing and even that forgotten holiday toiletry essential. It’s incredibly child friendly with two play stations (not the plug in ones) to keep little ones busy while you shop.
Owner, Andrea Golding, ships products from all over the world and is passionate about her suppliers who include brands such as Moulin Roty – soft toys from France, Oil & Carol natural rubber toys from Spain, Raduga Grez – beautiful wooden jigsaws and wall art from Russia and wooden toys from Lanka Kade in Sri Lanka.
I also learned an interesting little fact – did you know that the ‘Gruffalo’ is hiding on the pages of every Julia Donaldson book post The Snail & The Whale?
I did not – what a great excuse to get the books out again or visit Ele and Me to buy some more!
