We need the Hospitality Industry like we need a hug from a friend. And they need us right back. If only drinking gin could help. Wait, what? It CAN help!

Girlie lunches, cocktails made by people who actually know wtf they’re doing, raiding mini-bars, ordering room service, grabbing a coffee. It all stopped overnight. Every day we read about another venue closing its doors for the last time. They’re a resilient bunch but let’s face it, the last months have brought the hospitality industry crashing to its knees.

And that’s where you gorgeous gin soaked queens come in. Because £2 from the sale of every bottle of brand new 1837 Gin from Wild Knight Distillery goes straight to Hospitality Action. Amazing!

HA is the charity helping hospitality workers in crisis. Matt and Steph Brown of Norfolk’s award-winning Wild Knight Distillery are launching 1837 Gin on 18 September (Hospitality Action Day) as a fund-raising initiative on behalf of Hospitality Action, which was founded in 1837, hence the name. The collaboration was suggested by chef Charlie Hodson of Hodson & Co Cheese Room in Aylsham who’s an Ambassador for the charity and epic campaigner for mental health in Norfolk and beyond.

And the gin…oh my word. It’s a scented shimmy into silk pjs. Slips so smoothly over the lips and tongue you can sip it neat. We already love Wild Knight’s Boadicea Gins (try the autumnal ‘Spiced’ one with ginger ale, elegant English Vodka and insanely good Nelson’s Gold (divine caramelised voddy – tastes of falling leaves, toffee apples and fireside kisses).

With its distinctive branding in the Distillery’s signature pewter, it’s also a lovely gift for – I’m going to say it – Christmas!

Come on Muddy Readers, Hospitality Action needs us. Time to buy that 1837 Gin and tell the industry #wevegotyou.
