New year, new fitness routine? We're with you! Here's the Muddy edit of stylish sportswear that'll have you in tip-top form in no time.
Finding it hard to conjure the motivation to kickstart that hardcore new exercise routine? Step away from Instagram and all those impossible six-packed role models and get your inspo from the brilliant buys we’re currently sporting whilst sprinting round the park on our lunch breaks (honest!).
got your back
Asos' sportswear label, 4505, is pleasingly inclusive with ranges in curve, petite, tall and maternity. We're loving this loose fitting tank top with cut out back detail for our new year gym debut (it's been a while!). It's excellently priced too
mind the gap
We're huge fans of H&Ms activewear, it's excellent for a high street offering and at a great price-point. For slinging on after a long yoga sesh, we're mainlining this cotton-blend, dusty purple (watch this colour dominate the trends btw), cut-out back sweatshirt.
don't bottle it
An alternative to the super-expensive cult brands (£30 for a water bottle? No thanks), you can find this reusable bottle online at FOSH. It's lightweight, comes in a range of playful colours like this Clownfish Orange, and has a handy D-ring so perfect for carrying around the gym or attaching to your backpack.
These chic leggings from under-the-rader, French sportswear brand Ernest Leoty mix geometric and feminine shapes, taking inspiration from traditional corsets, with countered vertical panels and flattering high waist. Make it a matching set with this corset bra.
Founded by two Aussie sisters, NAGNATA only uses zero waste, organic cotton and specialises in premium, technical knitwear. The design uses a wizzy jacquard knit that's engineered to be supportive, breathable and non restrictive all at the same time, perfect for a sports bra like this super-stylish green and black option.
US brand Free People’s pieces are so pretty they don’t look like sportswear at all so well worth a look if you’re bored of black Lycra. This lightweight top with flattering stripe detail comes in twelve colours (we'll take one of each, please) and is part of the brand's new sustainable range that's made from 100% regenerated nylon. Bravo.
take the plunge
Don't you hate it when your goggles are too tight and leave huge rings around your eyes? This red mirrored pair from HUUB (a favourite of Olympic athletes) are a great solution with interchangeable split straps and nose bridge for optimum fit, plus they’re suited to both pool and open water swimming.
just keep swimming
The monochrome colour-blocking on this swimsuit from luxe sportswear brand Vaara is bang on trend. Made for swimming (and not just sunbathing), it's quick-drying, has a flattering silhouette and is made from high retention Italian performance fabric so you won't fall while you're doing lengths. Also available in fuchsia is you're feeling brave.
Created by Nike's former creative director, new activewear label, Wone, has a refreshing minimal aesthetic - garments are logo free, with a sole focus on high-quality fabric that can withstand up to 50k washes. Our favourite piece in the collection are these figure flattering, no-fuss cycling shorts, a staple for your sportswear wardrobe.
We love the colour of this mint thermal base layer from cycling style vanguard Rapha. It’s designed for riding in cold temperatures, with a high neck snood that can be used to cover the mouth and ears, and it has a nifty gap at the back to pull your ponytail though if you have long hair. Kudos for creativity.
