Royal Norfolk Show – Style Challenge
I'm super excited to be getting my stilettos muddy at this years Royal Norfolk Show. What's more I've been invited to join the intu Chapelfield style spotters who will be out scouring the show ground for the most stylish visitors!
Ladies, gents, small people and dogs – it’s time to put your best fashion foot forward and be in with the chance of winning some rather lovely gift card spends – £250 for Best Dressed and £100 for Headline Hat.
Flattered as I am to be asked to judge, I quickly jumped to the realisation – “what does the judge of best dressed actually wear themselves???”
So hoorah for the lovely personal shopping team at House of Fraser. After a short fashion briefing, likes/dislikes/size (honesty required) they set off in search of my perfect outfit – leaving me to relax in a private dressing room with magazines and refreshments. Before I knew it, Zoe my Fashion Fairy Godmother was wheeling in rails of dresses and jumpsuits for me to try on. This certainly put a positive spin on the usual cramped changing room experience with four items only policy and children asking embarrassing questions about your body that you’d really rather not share with the rest of the changing room.
I’m not a model and if anything the picture taking part was the least enjoyable bit of the morning (see what I’m prepared to do for Muddy). However, this is not an obligatory part of this ‘free’ service – yes, I did say free!
The shop floor was awash with this season’s bold block colours and patterns. Great for those who like to make a statement and also great for those who feel the need for some clever distortion and like to hide behind a pattern.
I think my facial expressions say it all – note to self, I really must learn to mask my feelings a little better!!!
You’re going to have to come and find me at the Norfolk Show if you want to see the final outfit. I will be walking around the show (wedges not stilettos) on the morning of Thurs 28 June, inviting people to enter the competition. Judging starts at 2.50pm outside the RNAA office and we’ll have a chilled glass of pink fizz waiting for you.
