The big news? Norfolk has a new Michelin star! Scoring its first twinkler is hidden gem of a restaurant, <a href="https://www.stokemillstore.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">STORE</a>, tucked in the back room of Stoke Mill in the pretty village of Stoke Holy Cross, South Norwich. Housed in the original home of Norfolk&#8217;s iconic Colman&#8217;s Mustard, the restaurant within a restaurant opened in 2021 in the 700 year old restored mill on the River Tas.



An intimate dining spot, STORE&#8217;s five tables will no doubt be like gold dust now. But lucky diners nabbing a spot can tuck into a seven-course tasting menu, blending French and English classics, with wine pairings. STORE&#8217;s big brother <a href="https://www.stokemill.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Stoke Mill</a> restaurant is also listed in the Michelin Guide, as is the neighbouring gastropub <a href="https://www.thewildebeest.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Wildebeest</a> &#8211; clearly Stoke Holy Cross is a Michelin hotspot!

There’s plenty to celebrate elsewhere too, with Norfolk retaining its other three twinklers in the Michelin constellation.

Norfolk&#8217;s Michelin stalwarts&nbsp;<a href="https://www.morstonhall.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Morston Hall</a> and <a href="https://theneptune.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Neptune</a> retained their one Michelin star each, impressively held for 24 and 13 years, respectively. Last year&#8217;s newcomer <a href="https://www.meadowsweetholt.com">Meadowsweet</a> has once again been awarded one Michelin star, having bagged its first after only nine months of opening. 



Galton Blackiston of Morston Hall has that brilliant combination of a great team and consistent, innovative cooking. Hunstanton’s&nbsp;The Neptune‘s dynamic husband and wife team continue to wow inspectors enough to retain their position. And Meadowsweet was praised for its skilfully prepared tasting menu with deep flavours.

<a href="https://www.sculthorpemill.uk">Sculthorpe Mill</a> and <a href="http://www.theguntonarms.co.uk">The Gunton Arms</a> kept their Bib for their good quality, good value cooking. A huge accolade.&nbsp;



With its laidback country-chic vibe and deer park location, The Gunton is loved by both celebs and carnivores. Watch your steak being cooked over the fire while you neck a big glass of red.&nbsp; 



Sculthorpe Mill joined the Bib Gourmand crew last year. The pretty waterside inn has undergone an amazing evolution under the ownership of sisters Siobhan and Caitriona Peyton.

<a href="https://www.restaurantbenedicts.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Benedicts</a>&nbsp;is an unfussy yet classy restaurant where the quality of the ingredients speak for themselves. Chef Patron Richard Bainbridge cut his culinary teeth at Michel Roux’s 3 Michelin starred Waterside Inn as well as winning Great British Menu in 2015.&nbsp;



<a href="https://benolirestaurant.com">Benoli</a>, tucked away at the bottom of Norwich&#8217;s Timber Hill,&nbsp;is an Italian restaurant focussing on fresh classics all made in-house from scratch.



<a href="https://thedialhouse.org.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Dial House</a>&nbsp;in Reepham is brand new to the guide this year. Based on the concept of Bistronomy, it focuses on fine produce as opposed to fine dining.



<a href="https://farmyardrestaurant.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Farmyard</a>, sister to The Dial House, has made it into the guide with their focus on ‘unadulterated’ local ingredients and flavoursome meals cooked in a charcoal oven in the on-view kitchen.

<a href="http://www.rogerhickmansrestaurant.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Roger Hickman&#8217;s</a>&nbsp;on Norwich’s fashionable Upper St Giles is a grown-up restaurant specialising in fine dining, pretty plates and great local ingredients.



<a href="https://www.theinghamswan.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Ingham Swan</a>&nbsp;in Sea Palling gets full marks for quintessential British pub charm: 14C thatched roof with stone walls and low beams, modern British dining and bedrooms to boot.&nbsp;



<a href="https://sociusnorfolk.co.uk/book-a-table/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Socius</a> is a Scandi-style restaurant in Burnham Market recently named&nbsp;AA Restaurant of the Year England. It serves small tapas plates showcasing the best local produce.



<a href="https://www.stokemill.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Stoke Mill</a>&nbsp;is housed in a 700 years old renovated mill on the River Tas in Stoke Holy Cross. It&#8217;s much awarded for its clever combination of flavour and ingredients. Its little brother restaurant, <a href="https://www.stokemillstore.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Store</a>, housed in the same building scored Norfolk’s newest Michelin Star this year.

<a href="https://www.theoldbankbistro.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Old Bank</a>&nbsp;in Snettisham has held a Michelin listing since 2019 and prides itself on offering fresh, modern and imaginative food, using the very best local ingredients.



<a href="https://www.thewildebeest.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Wildebeest</a>, another Stoke Holy Cross gastro gem, manages&nbsp;to perfect&nbsp;the&nbsp;tricky combo of relaxed country pub and fine dining establishment.
