The Jolly Sailors

Muddy says: “The Jolly Sailors is a family-friendly pub with the largest rum menu in Norfolk, a giant beer garden with children’s playground and, in the summer, an ice-cream stand and BBQ area.”

The Jolly Sailors is a traditional, 18th century white-washed pub situated in the picturesque village of Brancaster Staithe in the heart of scenic North Norfolk.

Winner of the Great British Pub’s Best Family Pub award and Best Community Pub in the Alastair Sawday’s Guide to Pubs and Inns of England and Wales, it serves delicious home-cooked pub food with daily specials, stone-baked pizzas and, of course, pints from its very own Brancaster Brewery, continuing the north Norfolk tradition of producing quality ales from the regions finest produce. It also serves the best selection of rum on the North Norfolk coast.

The new Smokehouse smokes meat and fish in a dedicated wooden hut in the back garden, while the large garden area offers a generous amount of bench-style seating, a barbecue from brightly-coloured beach huts and a great playground for kids with plenty to keep them occupied – there’s even an ice-cream hut in the summer.

The Jolly Sailors is well-known for its events, including The Jolly Runners – a free club for regular runners – The Jolly Quiz, which takes place on Tuesdays, a Real Ale festival taking place in June each year (now in its 8th year) and – of course – year-round calendar of Jolly good fun!
