The Coastal Exploration Company leads bespoke explorations along the north Norfolk Coast using traditional Norfolk fishing boats under sail.

Sail under canvas on one of three locally-built wooden boats and explore North Norfolk’s wild, spectacular shores. Assist with navigation, forage and fish for meals and visit special places that can only be accessed by water. Connect with the landscape, its tidal rhythms and its diverse natural inhabitants in a way that wouldn’t ordinarily be possible.

The pace, itinerary and destinations of any exploration are tailored to clients’ needs. Experienced host Henry Chamberlain can create a four-day sail from Thornham to Blakeney with overnight stays on-board – moored in sheltered creeks – or an on-the-tide (four-hour) navigation of the creeks in and around Wells Habour, Scolt Head Island and Stiffkey Freshes.

The whole of the North Norfolk coast, from Holme-next-the-Sea in the west to Kelling and Cley in the east, is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest. As such as it s home to a remarkable variety of established fauna and flora. Using our local boasts, and adhering to the strictest codes of access, clients can reach and observe the entire realm of nature living along its length.

Refreshments and meals are provided using the freshest ingredients straight from the marsh or sea, as well as other locally-sourced and produced delicacies.
