Wouldn’t you though
May be it’s all the typing I do – or the fact that I do actually bite them (disgusting I know) – but I have awful nails. I’ve never had a manicure (shock horror!) and only paint them for one week a year: black, for Halloween.
That is until I met Charlotte Mooney at the Norwich Makers’ Market, a sprightly entrepreneur who painted my daughter’s tiny toe nails with the patience of a saint. My four-year-old now loves them so much she doesn’t want to go swimming for fear of the polish coming off – and as any parent knows, kids LOVE to swim.
Charlotte started painting nails when she was just 10, moving into nail art by the tender age of 12. Not a fan of school, Charlotte used to chase her Sunday night blues away by painting her nails on a Sunday evening; by Monday morning she had something she was proud of to bolster her for the day ahead.
It’s a lovely story and one that’s made even lovelier by the fact that Charlotte, who has anxiety disorder, has launched her own business – Dotty Designs – taking her talent to weddings, pamper parties and craft fairs to combat her anxiety through creativity.
And just look at some of these lovely designs:
