The 2019 Winner’s Party!!
The sun was shining and the gin was flowing at The Fire Pit Camp for our Award winners drinks. I was incredibly honoured to meet our 24 winners - amazing people all flying the flag proudly for independent businesses in Norfolk.
May is all about the Muddy Awards and things go just a little bit crazy here at Norfolk HQ!!!
There’s a lot of love out there for local independent businesses and I was overwhelmed by the amount of nominations and votes.
- 24 categories
- 11,000 nominations
- 1500 businesses
- 120 finalists
- 25,000 votes
The most popular category was Best Family Attraction – won by Redwings Horse Sanctuary. If you haven’t visited them yet, it’s a great day out for the kids plus as they’re a charity your visit helps towards the care of lots of homeless horses.
Destination Pub was the second most voted for category and The Bell in Brisley was our well deserving winner. I was lucky enough to bag a sleep and eat visit last month and loved it. Click here for my full review.
In conclusion, the Muddy reader loves a day out with the family as long as it includes a drink and some triple cooked chips at a gorgeous pub – spot on I reckon!
Thank you to Sarah & Rachel at The Fire Pit Camp in Wendling who hosted the Awards drinks. If you haven’t been yet, their Friday cocktail night in the warehouse bar is incredibly chilled and kids are welcome too.
Squilla & Squidge – you are scrumdiddlyumptious! Thank you for the gorgeous canapés and if anyone has a party or wedding coming up, check out this cool VW Van serving up delicious healthy street food with Middle East and Mediterranean flavours.
The lovely Norfolk Gin popped along too and served up some specially designed Muddy Awards cocktails. The Muddy Martini and Pink Stiletto went down a treat (hiccup) – big thank you Jonathan & Alison!
Thank you to Mrs A Bakes for the most delicious flavoured marshmallow treat bags. They were far too yummy to spike and toast over the Fire Pit.
Finally, thank you to our Best Photographer – Mr Richard Jarmy who captured the afternoon’s festivities wonderfully, proving why he’s worthy of the title for the second year running!!
We had a lovely afternoon with lots of mingling and it was great to see the winners making fruitful connections.
That’s it for another year folks – much Muddy love to everyone who took part, it’s been a blast.
I’ll be out and about trying to say “hello” to as many of you as I can over the next year. In the meantime do keep in touch as I always love to hear from you and share your stories.
