Fun & Froclics at the Muddy Award Drinks

Even the elements tried to join in this fun at this year’s Muddy Awards 2017 drinks as summer thunder rumbled around our lovely white marquee in the garden of the beautiful Kings Head in Letheringsett (to whom I owe a huge debt of gratitude).

Charmingly decked out in fairy lights, flowers and hot pink and white pom poms (what else?), our marquee was a warren of fun and excitement as winners collected their certificates/window stickers, had their photos taken, quaffed Champagne (or coffee/mocktails for the drivers – Virgin Mojito anyone?) and tucked into tiny spoons of Gin-infused trout, mini Welsh Rarebit squares topped with a Quails’ eggs and rabbit tartlets with baby carrots. It was far from shabby.

Pink and white flowers were kindly provided by a local florist

With a tartlet in one hand and a glass of fizz in the other, yours truly tried her best to take photos of the happy winners before they drank too much (or, more realistically, had to head back to their award-winning day jobs)! Here are your proud winners clutching their certificates:

I managed a bit of an impromptu speech:

“Muddy Stilettos is the bomb, blah, blah, blah.”

And to tear the motley crew away from the food/drink long enough to get a group shot:

There was networking, too:

Then, on the way home, I managed to swing by The Pigs Edgefield to drop their certificate in. Winners of Best Boutique Stays, a busy service prevented them from attended our little drinks soiree – if Mohammed can’t come to the mountain (erm Muddy will bombard a busy lunch service and demand a photo!):

So that’s it for another year. What’s that? What will I do now? Go back to doing what I know (and hopefully do) best, writing award-winning (*cough*) copy. That is if I remember how. In the meantime, time to put my feet up.

See you next year everyone.
