SIX – Divorced – Beheaded – Survived!
Cheeky, sassy, funny and a little bit rude - this is THE girl power story of the last 500 years.
Whilst everyone else was watching England get knocked out of the World Cup 🙁 I was lucky enough to be watching SIX at our Muddy Award Winning Theatre – The Playhouse.
The six wives exploded onto the stage, all power houses fighting to sing their story of why they had the worse lot being married to Henry VIII.
Possibly the best musical I’ve seen in years, I felt like I’d been transported into a concert/disco/rave! In little under an hour and a half (no interval), these sassy ladies took centre stage and sung their witty tales of woe.
The script was incredibly funny and peppered with social media references to modern dating which had the audience laughing and cheering out loud.
“how we got ourselves unfriended” and “he didn’t like my profile picture”
My favourite scene was the fluorescent rave scene in the House of Holbein, which was so simple in delivery but spectacularly funny to watch.
Cheeky, sassy, funny and a little bit rude – this is THE girl power story of the last 500 years. If all history lessons at school had been like this, my Tudor knowledge may not be so rubbish!
Definitely a Muddy must see, tickets still available for the 10pm performance on Friday and Saturday Matinee.
Ps. the costumes were gorgeous girls, you all looked fab!!!
